Good stuff, and long overdue. The metagame of Starcraft is too often overlooked by players hoping to improve because unlike strategy or mechanics, it cannot be simply learnt. It is far more based around feel. I'm glad someone finally addressed the issue and you did it extremely well.

I've always thought this way, and I know it's the reason Finals in progaming are so exciting. It's the clutch moment when you know both players are putting all their energy into this one series, and aren't dividing their attention with proleague or other qualifiers at the same time like they are at earlier stages of the tournament. Beautiful stuff when you're seeing players "be all that they can be" ^^ I hope we can see similar devotion as the TSL finals draw closer.

Good article, I enjoyed reading it. If I may add some games connected with OP for comment readers: ***Boxer vs Hiya on blue storm: Emperor goes marine rush, but doesn't go all in. He keeps mm alive, proxies half of his base near his initial central rax and feels good with game continuation since hes the only person who knows the situation. ***Gorush vs Anytime on BS. There was some crazy 1 hat tech, spire(2 scourge and 1 muta) into 4 hatch with greedy Gorush macro. It was few things, one after another. Anytime didn't fall into overcountering any of these, besides making 2 cannon, gate, gas and cyber before his not so fast anymore FE... Gorush got advantage he needed and won.
