Starcraft TiVo: Week 12

I sense that I am becoming increasingly picky about which games deserve to be on this list. Survivor, OSC, and even OSL were all disappointing. The OSL games may have been exciting live, but as vods they simply cannot stand up to the scrutiny.
I watched Savior vs Bisu over 10 times, trying desperately to convince myself that they were somehow good games. Unfortunately, they weren't. If you want to read (ie be spoiled) about what happened and my take on it, you can read it here
So as usual, the best games of the week happened in Proleague (along with 60 boring as hell games as well). The center expansions on Bakemagoji were used for the first time in Tester vs Hero, Boxer and Free scrambled around in a messy but entertaining matchup, and we saw the best ZvZ game in a long time from Odin and Hyuk.
Oh, and the Estro vs Hanbit team game was hilarious.

If you wish to argue that Bisu vs Savior should be higher, please go watch the 500 odd games that have been played thus far this season, then make your case.
Even comparing them to the other games this week, it should be clear that they are simply inferior in entertainment value.
Impulsively responding with "What this is nonsense aoiehfal;skdjfowier" without the proper due diligence isn't going to make a very good case.

mmm i kinda feel pusan vs anytime (mbc vs lecaf s2 or s5) deserves to be there, top tier pvp at its best - atleast i think its better than the puasn fbh game

haji, I can accept that you did not find the Bisu vs Savior games as exciting as some of the others that took place during that week. + Show Spoiler +What I can't understand is how you can rank the third game - a solid one-sided harass into macro-rape - higher than the intense, pitched battles of the second game. Maybe it's less impressive with a better understanding of game mechanics than mine, but it really seemed like Bisu was going down once his nat nexus was destroyed, and his comeback was very dramatic.

Yea I think I threw out a lot of games I could have given 3/5 to b/c I was getting so damn sick of standard decent/solid but unspectacular games and it's always a pain in the ass deciding what is borderline acceptable or not.

Baezzi: what are those red and blue bars showing before the game? ( @ 0:18 and @ 0:54) It seems that red one is for a win and blue is for a loss against a specific player. But why do they have different number of bars for each win and loss?
i'm not baezzi but oh well.
those bars represent the current play-skill of the players that a particular player has won or lost against
for example bisu would be like 4bars. when like KTF_yellow wud be like 1 or 2.
Is this actually what the bars mean?

If he lose to good player, yes, that blue bars will be small.

nope, it doesn't compare within the players. It only depends on how his opponent's WP rank (MBCgame's own ranking system) + Show Spoiler [W.P rank] + is high or low.
i.e Bisu has better wp points than savior but he would still get 4 red bars if he beats savior and if he lose to savior he would get 1 blue bar.

Concerning Odin v Hyuk:

It seemed so close the whole time, and it actually looked like Odin got a small lead (killing Hyuk's ovies in the center, a little ling harassment). But it looked like Hyuk won all the muta/scourge battles. The only thing I noticed is that Odin didn't spread his mutas and Hyuk did. Is that really so important, or am I missing some other reason why Odin lost?

oh well. In any case having these sorts of "these games should be in too!" or "i dont agree with the way you rated these" are really good in providing secondary input for others to base their decision of what to watch on, so please keep them coming in the future ^^

Yuk, the first game listed Tester vs Hero on Baekmagoji was a 40 minute snorefest.
+ Show Spoiler +Blue had it won 20 minutes in, purple just dragged it on.
