I'm pretty Zest is better than him in term of personal achievement... I think personal achievements should have nothing to do with capitancy. Nor being the oldest in the teamhouse, or being a team member for longer that anyone else. Imo the player who is able to keep the morale of the team high and has leadership skills is the one who should be captain. Not to bash Stats but he doesn't strike me as a person of that kind at all... So this news have me really surprised. Maybe being the team captain has little importance nowadays and the players simply switch roles to share visibility in this day of the year (PL media day that is)?

Maybe in SC2 they just do captaincy as one of those 'everybody wins' type of things and rotate it so everyone gets to feel special. I really can't see much other reason.

Maybe being the team captain has little importance nowadays and the players simply switch roles to share visibility in this day of the year (PL media day that is)? Flash was usually attending media day for KT but he was never captain. Being captain btw does have something to do with seniority, SpeeD won't become KT's captain any time soon. I remember Stork saying BrAvO was a great captain at some point last year, so they probably have extra work to do we don't know about. Which could potentially distract them from practice, which might be a reason for Zest to voluntarily give up the position. You people talking about "demotions" and such aren't even taking that possibility into consideration, by the way. I also wouldn't be so quick to judge their characters. Stats made a clown out of himself in front of thousands of people with his Proleague ceremonies last year while Zest's biggest struggle in GSL was simply making eye contact with GyuRi. For all we know Stats could be giving epic Braveheart speeches to his teammates every time someone loses a ladder game in practice. Appearances can be deceiving, after all.

And since Zest has a fame for losing PvT like crazy maybe they thought they were covered in that aspect too. Now, ROFL how fool from Samsung to think KT would stop being stubborn as always...

Zest still best by the way, I'm still a bit salty about his micro in the third game, but at the end of the day it doesn't even matter

Dear/Solar would have been the better choice imo. Zest vs Maru isn't far away btw, will be interesting to see but tbh i am not that convinced that Zest will make it :/ Sucks so hard that he got this draw, especially because there are only 2 gsl/ssl tournaments this year -.-

It seems that Maru can just win without preparation, just with his bio buttheadding style alone.

I actually think sending your strongest player is always better than gambling on a sniper build. Sure the sniper build can work and then it looks amazing, but if it doesn't it looks like the ace we got today haha. At the end of the day the strongest player on the team (especially if he has no weak matchup) has the highest chance of winning the game i think. I am also somewhat conflicted because i am a big Maru fan myself haha. Overall i obviously still prefer Zest to make it, but it just makes me sad that one of them is out in code a -.-

I mean their strongest player (Solar) got his soul crushed by TY and their 2nd strongest player got a bit lucky with his win (and also was wearing a mask so may not have been in peak condition). I think it's best when we stop trying to understand Choya and Stork's decisions.
