Yeah, but many Koreans have a deep-seated resentment towards Japan for atrocities committed against them during their occupation by Imperial Japan. Hence usage of the Imperial Japan Rising Sun flag is very inappropriate.

This further emphasized the point the GSL is THE tournament to prove oneself, whereas MLG and KeSPA tournaments are full of random elements and generally has far inferior champions. Hopefully MLG either gets its act together or folds. And by the way, someone has to do something about this MLG/KeSPA travesty of an alliance, as it is burning the legitimacy of the pro scene faster than it hires embarrassing ass, second-rate casters. If it's MLGeSPA's doing, I just hope that they crash and burn as soon as possible so hopefully professional SC2 can be salvaged in time. If it was Rain's decision, I'm no longer a fan and can only shake my head that the obvious happened as a very stupid decision completely blew up in his face and did insane damage to his image as a powerful player. I'm hoping it's the former, as MLG being the "evil force" in ruining eSports is no surprise and is something pretty much EVERYONE is used to.

If it was Rain's decision, however, then he will likely be banned from GSL for a season, and would deserve it, as skipping GSL Code S for a second-rate tournament like MLG and then performing poorly, losing to a washed-up has been like Bomber is pretty much the stupidest thing you can ever do. Even 1st place in MLG wouldn't make it worth it. Rain said in an interview on stream he was upset he had to forfeit GSL, so I don't think it was his decision.

Rain is a very good player, losing to Bomber after having to play so many tiresome games is not shameful at all and if you don't support your favorite players through a loss or two then you are a sorry excuse of a fan. Actually he only said "he was a little sad" and it doesn't have to imply what you're saying at all. He probably meant that he was a little sad that the schedules had conflicted and it couldn't be resolved so that he can play in both. Especially since the question had been "what do you have to say to your new/foreign fans?". I'm pretty sure he didn't intend to say "I'm only here because they made me be here and I hate it". -_-

There's a reason why being seeded in a group is a huge advantage; as the tournament goes on players will suffer from fatigue and player performance gets worse as you go farther in the tournament. Playing and especially winning from your group really cuts down on the games you play, which lets you save energy for the important matches up ahead. Leenock got to the final series on 20 games. Rain played 32 games and didn't even get to the semis. (Before anyone goes lol kespa training regime, practice games in a familiar, comfortable environment with teammates, or god forbid ladder practice, is much different than foreign tournament level games in an unfamiliar environment where you are probably jetlagged/eating terrible food and have to play to win against some potentially unknown people to get to the finals) It probably doesn't help that Rain loves his lategame play and so many of his games take 20+ minutes to resolve. If he was a serial cheeser he probably would be less exhausted. I think it's admirable enough that Rain made it so far as the last survivor of the open bracket.
