Then again, Scarlett should have easily won versus Nerchio in game 1 if she had forced a muta engagement at any time pre-Vipers, instead of playing so passively and letting him tech to hive before she did. So I guess it all evens out. Anyway, congrats on top 8!

GG also great interview http://www.thescoreesports.com/sc2/news/6823 Interesting, i always had the feeling you did better in tournaments - compared to ladder/online cups, Scarlett. Was that the same in Hots? anyways it seems like you enjoy playing sc2 much more again and thats what matters the most Gl in the round of eight. #onfiregaming

Have fun the rest of your trip I know you love China Rocky got back in shape in like, 5 minutes. The power of montages. Maybe Sasha needs a montage.

Rather than just improving her game knowledge, I think what might benefit her the most is to just brush up on her mechanics, because that's really what made her a great player to begin with.

- in one of the games vs Puck she had a visible advantage, after she repelled some of pucks aggression; she sensed the momentum and immediately sent a significant pack to counterattack, made of roaches and ravagers and i think some lings as well. Puck then saw the threat and ported (some/all?) units back to defend which succeeded, since he also had static defense in addition, plus forcefields and such, it was not difficult to manage. I think Sasha was kinda expecting her counterattack to go much better, and the actual outcome surprised her and caused some confusion in the immediate actions afterwards. - regarding being attacked on 2 fronts , or trying to counter while defending some zealots warped in main at the same time - this seems to be like it's more difficult vs Protoss than it is vs Terran, with terran you just leave behind some lings and banes, which are highly efficient vs the usual marine pressure, and if they still cannot defend then bring the main army with mutas back as well - but vs Protoss the tech must be higher to survive and be efficient and probably this is where the balance in decision making is tougher to achieve, as in the vulnerability of a protoss player is more difficult to estimate, cuz warp-ins and shit. However it was great to see her on that stage, she looked very happy so clearly she enjoyed being there and the trip was worth the fun even if she didnt qualify further. By the tweet she also seems very determined to keep playing and trying, and thats a good thing, not being taken down by a defeat in a tournament that you had to fly a lot to compete in.

Instead, now we see a lot of her units derping around, move-commanding, mis-rallying, and generally not being controlled tightly and cleanly. Rather than just improving her game knowledge, I think what might benefit her the most is to just brush up on her mechanics, because that's really what made her a great player to begin with. Someone in the GPL thread suggested that she needs a coach and I think that might be the real ticket, she hasn't had one since Cella (wish he was still around). Im not sure where in Korea she's staying but it doesn't seem to be a team house so I'm not sure she can get one in the near future So we all have completely different ideas. We are helpful

We are helpful Hmm, I don't think we all have different ideas. I agree that she'd certainly benefit from someone, coach or not, who can give her input on both her build orders, mechanics, and her competitive mindset during LAN matches. Looking back, the time she during which she improved the most was when she stayed at the Axiom house, so something similar might be helpful. Xtorn -- I disagree (even though I still love you). Scarlett has been "underperforming" for long enough now to where we can't just attribute it to coincidence, or brush it off and say that "it was just that game, she'll be better next time." It's clear by now that grinding ladder games alone isn't enough -- something has to change in how she practices and prepares.

Yea but I dont think that something is some basic skill that she allegedly "lost" over time, its far from being a problem for her; it has to be something related to small details that make the difference at that high level, really.
