I take a whole tournament as my favorite Scarlett- ("moment" ... happy that this is a long one), and of cause its the famos MLG Anaheim tournament. I`m going with this one because it was one of her most impressive runs in a premier event so far and it has so much situations which are absolute typical for her. Also cause this event was clearly overshadowed by the one notorious game where she switched to the evil side (god bless that she didn`t commited completly!!!). In my opinion it`s totally unfair to reduce this great tournament from her on this one match (even if it was a great troll), because she showed so many great games at this event which all got lost since everyone just remembers that one when it comes to Scarlett and MLG. First day is the hardest one: Freshly crowned as the RB-Na-Champion she had to face Polt in her first series and sadly lost 1-2 in close matches. They both had to play this series only one day after Scalett absolutely stomped him in 3 straight up 3v3's and both were totally tired, and it got even worse since the series was delayed for a couple of hours. I mean both of them looked terrible tired even in the pregame interview before the delay. Polt looked tired while Sasha seemed to be dead tired ('I`m tired PLZ help PLZ send aid Uh'). I have no idea how she was able to concentrate on the games just a single minute, but i guess she's kinda used to it and its sort of a tradmark for her to play tournaments/qualifiers under such bad conditions. In game 1 Polt opened with a 11/11 quite successfully in the beginning but she could hold on even after she lose her natural and after a quite succesful banelingbust she managed to bring the game to midgame with superior economy and was able to win a what seemed to be absolute unwinnable game. Remarkable was game 2, a great and close macrogame where she was ahead most of the time, she clearly only lost due lack of map- vision, but only cause the watchtowers were missing (fcking chrismas-map). Game 3: Unscouted and successful two base allin from polt. He could`t kill her that easily but she wasn´t able to bring the game back and after several impressive holds, she was slowly bleeding out. At the end of day one she ended with 2-2 score in series but i`m pretty sure she could have played much better and would have reached one of the first two places in the group if she wasn't that sleepy (first matchball lost). Day 2: Be aware of the foreigners: Three zvz this day 2-0 against Hyun, 2-1 against RagnaroK, only lost against the kiwi this day 1-2 vs Petraeus. ggwp Day 3: Grand Final (and sadly second matchball lost) Lucky her; again 3 zvz`s yeah!- good thing that this was her favorite matchup theese days! She even got so exited that she accidently choosed the wrong race in one match, but fortunatly for her Toss is such a joke that she easily won that game too. She showed really good zvz games on the third day and was able to knock out some of the best zergs korea has to offer -life's good. Considering zvz was her weakest matchup back then she showed absolute magnificent games and great mindgames (she even built roaches!!!). Also she was able to come back after falling behind 0-1 in two series. In a perfect world the title would have been her's for sure. Everything went perfect for her until the Lb-Finals but suddenly....PROTOSSS! She lost the first game against Trap because she droned in a crucial wrong moment and lost against zeleot/stalker pressure in the early game (What goes around, comes around). Second game: Great macro game from Scarlett and easy win (man i miss the times she didn`t play passionhosts against protoss; only against Naniwa that should be an option). Third game: When behind... . Seriously i'm not saying that the game was over after Trap went for dark templars, but she lost all her momentum after that. She made some sloppy mistakes and took bad engagements after she lost nearly all her mining bases to invisibility, but no other race is able to come back so easily when the opponent is up more then three bases. I think she got a bit overconfident in this game but hell yeah that was her right after this tournament run! I wouldn`t go so far to call toss op but the mechanics, possibilities to come back and the amount of mechanics to avoid fights are just stupid sometimes (forcefields, blink, recall, fcking dt's...). I think this event showed that she is a great troll but even more important she is goddamm skilled and intelligent player. Its kinda sad that she plays in so few offline events cause in my opinion she does far better offline than online and she is an absolute tournament-player. But since she hates traveling so much, thats quite understandable, i guess. Thats my favorite Scarlett-Memory so far but who knows, i wouldn`t be suprised too much if that changes in a couple of weeks when she upset all her haters and bashers at DH or maybe some other tournament this year. If somone can come back out of nowhere and strike back again and again, it's her. I'm really sorry for the shitty long essay and the bad England as always(i don't belive in a thing called grammar). Also i apologize for not linking the games, i know its even harder to follow me if you can't remember the games but this post is allready far to long anyway (also i managed to mess up my account, so had to write it per handy- hard enough). | ||
