Ah, okay, I was confused because the LP articles for WCS/Canada didn't make it too clear, but the one for WC proper makes more sense... there's 1 seed for Canada so she gets that by default. I personally think it makes a hell of a lot more sense to try to win WCS NA than MLG, though, so I can't blame her for it, WCS WC seed nonwithstanding. It would take a series of upsets to knock Scarlett out of the money for WCS NA... top 7 get $1k+, and top 3 get $3k+. I'm of the opinion (and I don't think I'm alone in it) that it would take an upset for Scarlett not to place top 3 in WCS NA. If we look at her potential MLG bracket, though, she'd have to fight through an endless wave of opponents that are very much capable of taking a series off of her, and she'd have to place 5th/6th to get the same kind of money that a top 3 WCS NA finish would ensure. Coming through the open bracket to place 5th/6th would be an absolutely incredible run for any player in the world because of the staggeringly high level of competition. Long story short, if you're thinking about it fiscally, focusing on a tournament that she can not only do well in, but has a good chance to win outright makes infinitely more sense. Her real threats are HuK, Illusion, MajOr, Ostojiy, Suppy, ViBE, IdrA, Mystik... realistically, I'm looking at one threatening protoss, two very scary terrans, and a limitless sea of Zergs, so, if I'm in her shoes, I'm banging out a billion games with Nerchio, Bly, and ParanOid and relying on the fact that TvZ is a joke to carry me through the rest (HuK seems pretty weak right now, sorry...). The prospect of "if I can win my ZvZ's and take care of HuK, I'm in $3k+ territory" is much more appealing than facing the open bracket.

In the foreigner scene, Zerg is on a massive ride that utterly dwarfs the perceived dominance of Korean P in the past few weeks. Let's not forget that just before WCS CA, people were jizzing their pants all over HuK because he was #1 and #2 GM on NA on smurfs, and look how far that got him.

Aw yes that was an enjoyable watch. I hope for another repeat of a Huk stomping. Perhaps this time it will be a lot less emotional for him, poor guy. Good luck Scarlett! Thanks for delivering!
