Hi Scarlett,
There was very recently some drama with Eclypsia's sponsorship of their dota2 team. I also noticed that the Eclypsia Collosseum semifinals didn't happen for whatever reason.
I know you can't (would be wise not to) comment or anything, but hope Eclypsia is treating you well!

So basically, I may be full of shit now. Or rather, I probably am full of shit. But anyway, according to what I read on Liquipedia a while ago, Scarlett used to go by the name WombatEX in good ol BW.
In what we all know as the most epic showmatch ever, Chill vs Combat-EX, a certain Wombat-EX joins the lobby when Day9 and Chill are waiting for Mr. Combat to show up. Also this players race happens to be Protoss, and Scarlett played Protoss in BW didn't she? So like..is that her? That'd be a pretty cool cameo.
Video: + Show Spoiler +
Either way, I chime in with the poster above. Hope things are fine on your end in Eclypsia Scarlett! Drama must not get in the way of a shooting star! D:

CombatEX is CombatEX. No, it's not her.

She played BW really casually, so it's highly unlikely that she was at any sort of level where she was chummy with Day9 and Chill.

Besides, I think Scarlett has said (in this thread even?) that there are and has been many people going with the ID WombatEX. Apparently it's a pretty old joke.

Ah yeah figured. And wow I'm a fool.
Oh well, at least it was a good reason to rewatch that video.

Technically it was not their dota2 team, it was Quantic's and supposedly EC was going to sign the team from Quantic.
Whether everything the team is claiming is true or not is questionable because that team has been fairly shady the past 6 months changing sponsors multiple times themselves.
Based on the interview Scarlett did with JoJo it seems to me like things with EC are going well so far. They are planning to get a team house up and running and they helped her get a new cpu which she said should be arriving today or tomorrow.

So she was in a chatroom with day9 ... great story bro

Just came here to post about the eclypsia thing... even if things still look good for her right now, I wish she had joined another more reliable team. :/
|
You should not worry about the Eclypsia thing. At worst they change teams and it's end of the story. It wouldn't make sense for them to not pay their team, at all.

Let us not dwell on the past, but instead look toward the future, a future in korea, with code s scarlett!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, either, though :p

MLG competitor passes sold out ridiculously fast, can anyone confirm or deny whether or not Scarlett got a pass? I'm worried now.
If she didn't, it's still possible to qualify through the Blizzard championship thing, I think, but I'm not sure how it works.
edit: she can't qualify through the US Nationals thing since she's not a US citizen.

Apparently competitor passes sold out before they were available to public

You needed Gold membership and you needed to be online like right at 7 PM because it sold out in four minutes.
Pretty ridiculous that MLG didn't bother to contact teams or something and sell them passes first, they're really shooting themselves in the foot on this one. :/

Come on guys. Do we really need Scarlett and I'm sure a bunch of other pros when we can have random platinum leaguers who were online at the right place at the right time ?!

Hope you're still able to participate somehow scarlett!

Hrrmph. While I've played Starcraft casually since its launch and followed the more popular commentators on Youtube, I hadn't paid much attention to this side of "professional" Starcraft earlier, before I saw a player who was as likeable and easy for me to identify with as Scarlett. Now, while attempting to follow the beginning of her career, I've read most of the public things regarding e.g. Eclipse and now this MLG Anaheim and I just have to wonder if e-sports as a whole is still an infantile field of business where hairy deals and spectacular cockups are the norm or if these last few weeks have just seen a string of bad luck...
Anyhow, I hope this secondary nonsense sorts itself out and she gets all the opportunities she's earned. Sing me up as a fan!
