Whatever they give wasn't enough to keep Parting or Squirtle. Now I know the idea is that they may do something for Life beyond their standard deal with ST, but I don't know, we'll see.

Startale actually lost a sponsor last year, BenQ used to be one of their sponsors, but no longer is.

So I guess there will be no Life at MLG Anaheim. No seeds, just a big open bracket, without even deeper placement for better players like at Dreamhack, and they've confirmed that they won't be flying anyone in. Whoever wants to come is on his own.

What a shitty follow up to the last couple of MLGs, both of which were amazing.

He forfeited his Asian indoor martial arts spot to go to MLG, so I'm pretty sure Startale is gonna get him there no matter what.

And MLG said that they are "ensuring top players have the opportunity to purchase privately", so he probably gets a pass. If he doesn't, shit will hit the fan.

Startale doesn't really have a history of sending players to foreign events if they aren't paid for. Unless Red Bull brings Life for this event, I don't see them sending him.

The RedBull guy who is often around Life and Bomber at MLGs told me he is "finding out" about Life playing at Anaheim. The format is relatively bad for him but I think the WCS points matter the most and he should go there.

I hope redbull sends life to MLG. He needs the wcs points too with his early exit from this season. Hope life shows up and wins it! I believe if Life won MLG he would get as many points as a top 4 finisher from this season, so that would help him a ton into getting enough points for grand finals at blizzcon.

If players like Life can't go to foreign events, the whole WCS point ranking at the end of the year is going to be a joke. We already have players like TLO and Snute with more points than Life, Rain and Flash, because they're playing easy mode.

It's much easier for players in NA and EU to consistently place high every season, compared to players in the GSL. On top of that they get sent to every foreign tournament to collect extra WCS points.

In fact, if you do the math, it's possible for a player who only does well at WCS NA or EU and foreign tournaments but does very badly at the season finals to end up having more points than a player who does well in the GSL and does well in the season finals.

Life was at MLG the first time because he won the Korean qualifier, which meant they paid all expenses to bring him there. 2nd time he was again seeded and flown over as the reigning champion. This time he doesn't get an invite or support, Startale has to pay if he wants to come.

I'm not sure that's true except Red Bull's own events, like Redbull LAN or Battlegrounds.

IPL, previous MLGs, Lone Star Clash etc were all paid for by the tournaments AFAIK. Am I forgetting something?
