I don't think I have directly insulted anyone in my few posts in this thread. I think you just did. You seem to be offended about phrases like "I like cute girls" though, so I've tried to include them in most of my posts.
I am a fan of InControl (maybe not subscribed). He's a great example because he got a lot of hate during NASL, though he has such a great passion for this game and is a very hard worker from what I know. I have called people out on negative comments on LR threads and stream chats before. New, different people coming into Starcraft aren't bad for the community. People throwing mud at those people "because they get more support than they "deserve"" are.(OMG double quotes o_O) That's what bad politicians do. We're in it for the same reasons (I think).

Don't get me wrong, I agree that Lindsey is cute and no I do not get offended by your "I like cute girls", imo it would be perfectly fine to show her all the love for her good looks on her facebook, some model page or whatever, I just do think it is unfitting in a StarCraft II Forum, hard to understand my point eh? It also just boosts the "nerds are desperate and lonely"-stigma which is what we do not really want to happen if us - the StarCraft community - wants to become a "real" sports. (As real as that gets, being a computer game.)

I've been checking this thread just to see how long it gets, and frankly, when it started, I didn't expect it to go beyond 5 pages or so. It's a little strange that even Boxer's fanclub is only about half the size of this thread.

I'm not sure what drives them away - the fact that it is a sport - there are plenty of other male-dominated sports, the "nerdy sexually distressed community", or the people who go "hmm, maybe we shouldn't like her because she's a girl, we are more intelligent than that". I feel the second and third are actually related.

We shouldn't accept a SC2 interviewer who hasn't plaid a single game so far, solely based on the fact that she is hot.
Being hot is a very big plus that nobody is denying here, but the issue here is that there's nothing else.
If you want to stare at hot girls, it's summer time go to the beach and find you a hotspot, or go to some websites.
They are probably plenty of decently looking gold league+ girls who would do the job quite better, imo.

If there are a lot of teamliquid members who become a fan of her when she did interviews at a starcraft event where she interacted with the starcraft community why shouldn't she have a thread on TL? I don't see why this isn't relevant to teamliquid. The whole point is that she isn't just another model or hot girl but that she is a hot girl who has a positive attitude towards the starcraft community and might even pick up the game.
I agree she has done nothing for the community apart from entertaining us. The point is that you don't get a fans by contributing to the community but by appealing to the community. I respect people like incontrol, djwheat and Chill and players like Boxer, Nada, Idra and Tyler a lot but the people I'm a fan off are Lindsey, Artosis, ZenexLine and HoSeoSage. Not because they contributed tons to the community but because they appeal to me and I like them. I enjoy watching artosis cast, I enjoy watching Sage and Line play and I enjoy watching Lindsey take awkward interviews with nerds and being positive.
