i would claim the widow mines are indeed countering everything in the zerg army right now, putting us in the exact same position as with the ghost year and a half ago, but this isn't place for balance discussion

Ilyes is sitting with a huge smile when he says it and when Ben walks by he smiles a lot himself. I wouldn't worry about it! =)

He said in a recent interview that he didn't really like to play SC2 anymore but he likes to win, and there is not any easier place to win than on NA ladder.

Well you don't know Stephano. Stephano don't play on Korea because he don't like playing with lag. And when he is learning the game it doesn't matter where you are atm. His words.
Btw his stream has been a pleasure to watch this evening. You can really see his ZvT is started to become really good. He is improving really fast in that match-up atm

What do you think will happen when he plays a strong Korean terran? We already saw that at IEM and MLG. 0-2 vs Mvp, 1-2 vs Dream and 0-3 vs Last. And yes, those guys should also have improved a lot since then. Probably even more than Stephano because they have serious practice in a team environment.
Stephano will probably not achieve much in SC2 anymore and he has probably realised that, hence the retirement talk. He is just waiting for his contract to expire in 6 months and then he will move on with life.

he seldom loses to demuslim from what i've seen
there's a korean terran on us ladder, cShuttle, he used to lose to him quite often but now stephano improved his TvZ a lot and seem to have a fair victory ratio against this korean

Being Korean doesn't mean being a good player. Beating Shuttle, even if he isn't a bad player, doesn't mean much really

Stephano had barely played HoTS when he played dream (and he still almost beat him) and MVP. He had just stomped MVP in WOL. Why don't we see how he's doing at a tournament when he's actually ready to play HoTS before declaring him washed up, as you seem ready to do? He's still clearly figuring things out but his multitasking, map awareness, etc. are still all there and that's what led him to have one of the best years in 2012 of any SCII player.
If he doesn't achieve much in SC2 it's because he's too indifferent or lazy to practice. Judging by his streaming rate lately though, he's at least practicing regularly, so I expect good results.
Also, just give it a rest.

It's always excuses with Stephano. Who knows if he played more or less HOTS than the others. We only know as a fact that Stephano has lied about it. He said in an interview on stage that he had only played 10 hours of HOTS, and the guys at the analysis desk called him out right away, saying that they were pretty sure they had seen him stream more than 25 hours of HOTS.
If anything, a guy like Last had probably barely touched HOTS because of his dedication to Proleague.
But you are right, we will see. Luckily HOTS is no where near as zerg imbalanced as WOL was. I expect he will just be among the top foreigners. Not the best one.

Sorry for being so blunt, but come on, enough with the "he will never have results again"-doomsday predictions already. People have done the same thing several times before, and they have always been proven wrong. This summer, people said he would never achieve anything noteworthy for the rest of his career, and then he won the Lone Star Clash. After that, people said the same thing again, followed by him going 5-4 in Proleague, the best W/L-ratio of any EGTL-player.
I'm not even a massive Stephano-fan, but a few people in this fanclub are some of the least supportive "fans" on TL.net. Discussing and sometimes critizising a player is fine, obviously, but going "he sucks now and will never win anything again" is the antithesis of what a fanclub is for.
