I think you might get disapointed tho !

that's why i started by "craziest IPL5 scenario"
honestly i think (but i don't hope) that he will not do better that top 24
thinking about all these travel that get him tired, that's good to EG, he shows his shirt at all these tournaments and answer interviews with it, so even Stephano don't win at all, EG must be Ok with that...
but we're not

Ok missread that Honestly right now i'm just hoping it won't be a long and deep slump ( Huk ? ) for the guy who has IMO the biggest potential in the scene !

He surely didn't play at the level we expect from him.
but to put all in perspective, for how long now he is in the top ten Elo rank ? who else is in the top ten for the same time ? MC surely, leenock maybe, MVP surely... I don't really know but not a lot of people stay this long this high in the ranking.
MC, MVP, Stephano. IMO top three of the hall of fame of SC2. people who win tournament, and mark the game by their style / accomplishment / metagame influence
lets hope that like MC or MVP, he can come back fast and win tournament again.

I hate to be a downer, but the international Elo rankings have been wrong and outdated for months. I honestly highly doubt Stephano is top 10 after BWC and DH.
I hope to see an amazing performance from him at IPL but I expect little.

So I won't be disappointed, here is my scenario:
Stephano get's really drunk all by himself the night before and stumbles into the venue just in time for his first match. He loses every game of every series he plays... and he gets destroyed every game. After his games, a frustrated and sad Stephano announces he is retiring from SC2, going against the EG contract. EG tries to force him to continue playing until the contract expires but Stephano refuses to cooperate. So EG sues him, wins the case, and walks away with most of Stephano's yearly earnings, meaning Stephano can no longer afford medical school. Stephano then get's drunk again and blows the little of his money that reamins on hookers and more alcohol. The rest of his life he lives as a homeless drunk on the streets of Paris, his parents have disowned him, and his legend becomes a myth in the SC2 community. Soon he is forgotten... Cursed.

Yesterday on M6 ( french channel ), they talked about pro in video games and talked quickly about Stephano ( like 10 seconds ), they stated that he's currently winning 7k euros just in salary. It's more than the 8k dollars everybody thinks he's winning. He has always stated that he wanted to study medicine. And there was always the discussion about whether he would quit gaming to pursue his studies. Mind you not too long ago he has announced to delay his studies for yet another year to be playing full time pro. It's completely far fetched to believe he has been studying for the past months. Do you think EG would have hired him as a part time pro without saying anything whatsoever about it? The only statement comes from a poorly translated interview with a guy who has allegedly talked to him during a tournament.
I think the problem is that Stephano cant stay in EG house cause of the pets, where he has to plan to rest ? Maybe the best for him is the Millenium house
All about EG make me smile now, how they manage the "14 old girl" incident, and how they ruined the Stephano's carrier (Even if Stephano killed himself), maybe EG should hire Millenium manager to learn how to motivate players

I hope he actually plays the game during the time between DH and IPL

That would be nice. He doesn't have any recent activity on his NA account.

Honestly i don't think he has played any ladder or customs at all recently

I really wonder wether Stephano really doesn't train at all or has a smurf account no one knows off? I have a hard time to believe that someone can keep up with pro level without playing aside from tournaments for 1 month or so...
|
Austin -> Shanghai -> Jonkoping -> Vegas in 4 weeks, I don't think he could sneak up that many hours of ladder between all the travel, even if he wanted to.
Anyway time to get real, there's Violet in his part of the brackets and he's not in good shape. I wouldn't get hyped up if I were you...
|
well stephano didn't make it our of groups in wcs or at dreamhack keep that in mind ...

I am nothing getting hyped up for Stephano, and people are expecting less. Maybe he will play better now that people aren't expecting that much!

Stephano should have stay in [M] maybe a little less of money , but no sponsors bullshit , Better environement for him , not away from his family ect ... ( there is a new "american" zerg coming in [M] soon tho ... Just sayin...)

If Stephano plays somehow like he used to, he has a pretty good bracket at IPL5. No Zerg at all.

Violet is in his bracket.
Anyway let's see what happens. He has underperformed at the last two events but won the event before that so let's see how he get's on in Vegas. IPL5 is the most stacked tournament ever though.

The bracket has changed, Violet is not anymore in his bracket.
