Kobe Bryant can get away with terrible things because he has money and influence. Stephano has money but not enough influence. If he was like Mitt Romney he could literally lie about all sorts of things, get called out on all of them, and get away with it. This is the main reason why the punishment will not make Stephano regret his actions. | ||

Well at least those sports is not surrounded by a community who doesn't give a shit about the sport itself but just grave for entertainment in the form of the latest gossip and drama no matter who gets hurt. The sc2 community is a bunch of women. Actually this is the last time I'm ever going to call sc2 a sport. When Stephano retire I'm out of this I want no part of this pathetic and malicious community. But gave up on that some years ago when I saw the old sport is pretty much dead. And yes we could be mean but is nothing compared to the sc2 community. Goto eastside boxing forum and read. There you will see people actually talking about the sport itself even if it is corrupt to the core. Now read Reddit and TL and watch which latest drama gets more responds. And next week its something new I'm ashamed to be part of this community. | ||

I really wish to see stephano more on tournaments, just to clarify the fact that i love him and i hate him. His play is really cool to watch and he can really pull off some awesome stuff, but that ''joke'' ( if it WAS a joke, a matter to which none can really say anything for and against, lets be honest stephano fanboys) really shows some nasty characteristics off of him, and i really despise myself for liking such a ''depatable'' character like stephano. I will still continue rooting for EG, IMO they handled the matter really well. Stephano is now a professional gamer of EG gaming team and such childish and questionable behaviour SHOULD! be punished, because as a representative of EG stephano should have some ''class'' to him. I admit that it was an unfortunate coincidence that bling was streaming at the time stephano told that PRIVATE stuff to him, but he still HIMSELF put himself, and the team he is representing, in a questionable light and that forced them to make such radical decision about stephanos upcoming games. I think it is really stupid to try to reason this in anyway, what is done is done, stephano really got what he deserved and i personally hope that in the future he tries harder not to spill out these occasional scandals like this, so i can enjoy his awesome gaming with clear conscience. | ||

From my experience the basketball community is immature and judgmental, the FGC community is sensitive as hell and loves hate trains, and the baseball community is self-righteous and thinks stats mean everything. But that's natural since I was attending the largest forums and that's where most of the shit goes down. The same thing with Reddit and TL: we're just where all the traffic goes through and where the stream/forum monsters look to cause drama. Don't let them kill your love of the scene. I have to deal with Mvp fans every day talking about shit about my favorite player just because he made the finals, but I don't let it get to me. | ||

Do you think that we are causing more drama than other sports when one of their most popular players appears to have dun goofed. Tiger woods was on the front page of the newspaper for days afterwards even though he is involved in a sport not that many people like. People like drama, deal with it, whenever something unexpected happens to a high member of any group in the world there will be drama. It's normal, honestly, by sunday any of the original threads will be long gone from the front page of tl, and the only time anyone else will think about this will be when someone bring it up again, and guess what, they probably won't do that unless there is something new they want to share with the community. Honestly, you're getting really worked up over a normal response, if you think this community is only made of of drama queens and haters, go to the strategy forum, and discuss a new build, i guarantee you anyone there will care about the game very much, and there will be no mention of this scandal. tl;dr stop getting butthurt just because your favourite player made himself look like an idiot. | ||

Good point and maybe you right. I just think something has to be done soon its getting worse and worse. Maybe we should start writing to sponsors and tell them there is many people who just love the sport itself and don't care about the latest drama. We need something to counteract the entertainment/drama addicts | ||

If SC2 as a competitive game is going to grow, we need to attract more casual fans and get more financial support. That means more drama, more complaining and bitching, more sensitivity concerning silly issues, and more artificiality from our stars. And that means more money, more fame, and more public acceptance of what we support. The good shit comes with the bad shit. | ||
