My thoughts exactly. There are like 30 code B Koreans with better zvp than DRG (and of course Stephano). They're both so bad. I mean there's . .. . and ummm .. . . you know that guy on that team . . . . Well, this is embarrassing. I can't think of anyone with better zvp than either of them, but all of the fanboys should rest assured that they're out there!!

kidding you ? Yes, and DRG just say he start to play protoss now.

Stephano has one of the best ZvP in the world and can absolutely beat any Protoss, but I don't think we can make any conclusion of this BO3 between DRG and MC. DRG play was horrible. In game one his choice to tech to corruptors and getting aggressive with them was strange. I think it was an off-day for him, more than MC playing awesome.
Anyway, Stephano's itw in LO3 is really interesting. He is really smart, which makes me confident he will overcome his ZvZ weakness and be back stronger than ever from his Korean trip.

Agreed, DRG doesn't seems in a great shape. Too much mistake, bad engage... And for ZvZ yea I'm sur Stephano can figure it out .

Also I'm sure like 80% of you typing here didnt even see the games - DRG was not himself... he played like absolute shit compared to what he can do ZvP. Stop talking bullshit now. And even if Stephano's ZvP is somehow better that does not make him a better player and he is not yet a GSL trophy contender. Im not shitting on Stephano - he is one of my favorite players. Just please stop talking smack about DRG based on a BO5 he played where he got smashed because he has personal issues atm.
Yeah, that was kind of sad, loosing to MC is no shame but he was really out played and it's not like MC was hundred time better today but more that DRG was far from his usual play. The first game was painful to watch, his roach corrupteur was not only a bad idea, but also badly played, and the last one on Antiga, he sniped all the sentry, only lost 4 drones, I want to see the replay because it just blows my mine that he wasn't able to crush it. I really don't understand what happened with him but I was a little worried about the match against Naniwa, however he still has a shot for GSTL I really hope he'll be back stronger!

Don't just consider this match then. (and it was a bo5, it is more significant, but everyone can have a bad day) The PvZ before that : DRG- HerO at Hot Import Nights : 2-5 for HerO Stephano - HerO at NASL : 3-1 for Stephano
There was probably an advantage in the mappool for Stephano but the score difference is significant enough. Same opponent and it happened soon ago.
You can even add the other PvZ of the last 10 days, even if it is not versus the same player: DRG - Naniwa : 3-2 for DRG in a not very convincing fashion (check the LR thread or the interview of DRG there) Stephano - Alicia : 4-0 for Stephano in a convincing fashion. These results are not very significant in themselves but with the other above they show that right now Stephano has an edge in PvZ. It is unlikely to be only bad shape/luck three times in a row in bo5 or more.

Sign me up for stephono please, can't believe I didn't yet.
To all the DRG vs Stephano comments well... I've always said stephano can do incredibly well in korea and honestly, I can't tell whether DRG was drunk, or if he has misgivings all of a sudden on the matchup. MC is the only protoss in the world I would pick against DRG but not to that level. There was DEFINATELY something else as a factor this series, which is sad, since that was probably the bes matchup on paper this GSL had to offer

If you watch DRG play and move around his keyboard like Mozart on a piano, it's not easy to figure out who really is the best Zerg. That's out of question. What makes Stephano so good is that fucking gamesense. Always the right decisions, never too much, never too little. Always the perfect economy for achieving his goal and always hitting the Protoss when they are weakest or in a bad position. Winning even with a few macro flaws in certain situations. You can have the perfect macro, but if you make a mistake, you're still fucked. The other way around is just more powerful.

already back first place ELO.
He loose one place by winning FR qualifier instead of going to HSC. he is now back on top.

As has been commented on and noted numerous times, according to Stephano's game history, leading up to the NASL, he hardly practiced at all. Apparently, not only was he barely practicing but when he was, he wasn't even playing zerg (for the most part) -- his most played race on his NA account is showing up as Terran: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/2808471/1/MillStephano/. LOL.
|
maybe he will switch to terran to play versus zerg....
|
We have Season 8 for 4 weeks, he played 77 games on EU and 36 on NA server. This means he played around 4 games daily since Season 8. Amazing!

And the rule :

Or maybe it's not that, not sure.
