Stephano has forfeited several times, but I honestly think he plays in more tournaments than most players. Or at least he is so consistent that he goes far in virtually every tournament he enters and so has these sort of scheduling clashes more than most. I am sure lots of players get knocked out straight away in numerous tournaments and so this scheduling issue arises less often. An example is Lucifron - also scheduled to play TSL 4 qualifiers plus MSI Pro Cup tonight. But he has no scheduling clash because he got knocked out of TSL 4 qualifiers before MSI Pro Cup even started. Even with scheduling planned out, SC2 games vary in length making planing difficult. Just today I saw Lucifron beat Mana in just over 5 minutes and another game this evening between Happy and Todd lasted 1 hr 35 minutes! The problem is not forfeiting imo, it's going missing for random reasons like "brb restaurant" or suddenly going awol when he was on the phone with his manager a minute ago.... These kind of forfeits... It's even less understandable in your own team's tournament. Yes but neither of those 'kinds of forfeits' happened tonight, did they? He forfeited TSL 4 quals, when he had a good chance to progress to the end because he intended to meet his MSI Pro Cup obligations. Then he had an unfortunate event where he lost his charger and had to return and thus missed his appointment. Considering the circumstances, I see no need to act as if the situation is the same as when he was in Texas and disappeared. People lose stuff like keys, phones, wallets etc and it can mess their day up and cause them to miss appointments. That stuff happens in life. All you can do is move on and try and avoid it again.
Yes it did : the "suddenly going awol when he was on the phone with his manager a minute ago...." part of it. Being at home, in front of the computer, in the game lobby, on the phone 5min before, and then, *poof*

However you paint it, he forfeits more tournaments than any other player, its pretty disgraceful, which is a shame to say as I really love Stephano's play, but he has no respect for tournaments.
To precise what I want to say : he's messy. I'm disapointed too, arriving today and see Stephano in 2 tournaments => great evening ! But an incident occured and that's it.
Btw, nobody notice that Fraer forfaits his ro8 ? Aren't you mad on this ?

If it occurred as you describe, then I agree with you. Unless his internet connection is down, there is no excuse and I can understand the dismay. However it seems a bit odd, that he would curtail his participation in TSL 4 when he had a good chance to amass more pts, in order to play in this Cup and then just decide not to play. Very weird.

ok now i will be such a good "fan" i will applause when he does shit. What certain ppl don't understand here is that he didn't leave his house to look for his charger, he was in contact with lewelys few minutes before his game and said he was ok to play with the battery. The he desappeared, impossible to contact him. It must be the 4th time in a row it happends in this tournament, his home team tournament. If i was a psy i'd call that an "acte manqué", when you have to do something and you always fail to do it by doing miss minded stuffs like losing something.

it's funny seeing how autistic everyone gets in this fanclub whenever stephano doesnt show up for a tourney, arguing for pages and pages. I have to ask, who the fuck cares? pretty clear stephano doesnt care, so why should you?
be a fan of his play! that is whats important, nothing else

Well, that's the thing. How can you support his play when he doesn't actually play ?
:D

Well we now know he is intending to qualify for TSL 4. So maybe he will play in tomorrow's qualifiers?

I really couldn't care less what Stephano chooses to do with his matches or not; he must have his reasons. However, I have to admit that what he did was totally unfair for those people he roflstomped until the RO36. lol

Lot of poker player, tennis player, golf player forfeit match and competition for apparently no (good) reason. Nobody say anything.
People want that e-sport became more mainstream and/or be considerate as a sport, but dont want to act like it is any other sport.
the point : he didnt play. and what ? I don't care. I like to see him play the same way i like to see some tennis player play, just because it's great to watch. I dont look at all tennis player, and i dont look at all SC2 player, and i can't care less if he forfeit something. I will surely prefer to see him play, but after all, it's his choice / managment or I don't know/don't care the reason.
but be real, he was knowing that he will not finish the NASL qualifier when he check in. He only do it to have something special to stream and play / train in a better way than just laddering. For the MSIproCup forfeit, maybe he is so careless that he deserve a full time assistant / coach following him everywhere to avoid that to happen, or maybe he just wanted to piss of his manager, but i'm not so sure about that, I really think he is just too careless, and that thing like that make him one of the most entertaining player to follow: you just never know if he gonna stomp every korean and loose in an (so call) "upset" against a player we like to think of a lower rank, if he just gonna win the whole thing, or if he will forfeit in a random time for a random reason.
stop the hate, be happy, enjoy.

Well, I was pretty disappointed as well, looking forward to an evening of awesome starcraft, but I'll continue to watch and cheer. I suppose part of genius is being eccentric...

I dont think Stephano is eccentric at all I just think its becuase its Stephano little things get blown out of proportions. Many people forfeit all the time. Just yesteday 3 players did the same thing as Stephano in the TSL 4 qualifiers but they artn stars like Stephano so no one cares. The hole sc2 world are watching him. And its a price he has to pay becuase of the position he is in today.
Price of being famous I geuss. Just last week we saw the first paparazzi photo in the sc2 scene and ofcourse it was Stephano going to jail.

The forfeit in TSL was the right hing to do, we don't argue about that, but what he did to lewellys was just not mannered. He said 5 min before the match he could play on battery then he desappeared. After so many forfeits like this i cannot explain how he does. Being careless is a thing, admetting he is the most careless man on the planet, this doesn't give him the right to screw ppl like he did with lewellys, saying "don't worry i can play on battery" and then diconnect Bnet, and telephone. This is bad, unpolite and disrespectfull.
And supernova waited for him untill 5 am while he has a code S match in the coming days, you have the right to be careless wen this doesn't affect people around you, but when it does, it's being naughty.

This is bad, unpolite and disrespectfull.
How can you say that when we don't know what really happen ?
I really don't care if he forfeit, but i can't stand people judging each other without any knowledge of what happen. Maybe he got a real issue, we don't know.
In fact you just assume that he "want" to piss of Lewelys and being a dick.
fact : we don't know.
stop the hate !

He forfeited to play MSI cup iirc, as fraer forfeited the game against ret to play WCS qualifiers.. no big deal, people are happy to get free wins against such players I guess

I don't think Llewellys should invite him again to the MSI pro cup , he has already ruined the show two times.

Totally different. Fraer was timed out off TSL because he played RSL (seemed very strict time-wise maybe because he played a Liquid player but that does not belong here).
Stephano forfeited the TSL, pulled a classico Sephano and forfeited the MSI Cuup as well.
