I get what idra means, can't really teach talent I think it's more you can't teach instincts and Stephano's instincts when it comes to sc2 gameplay is ridiculous right now. Compare it to a player like Thorzain and you can see a massive difference in how you can approach the game in different ways and be successful. A player like Thorzain can probably give you a long and thorough explanation of his strategy from early to late game while Stephano more a master of adaptation and will have a harder time to give you that kind of "road map" to success. If you read Stephano's interviews when someone try to get him to answer strategy question you often find his answers lack concrete things you can take right away and learn yourself, making his way of play much harder to teach someone else. | ||

If your gift is understanding and creativity at the highest level why would you teach it to someone who's perceived as more mechanical but with less gamesense, you'll be surpassed (assuming perceptions are correct  ). I think Idra would struggle to lean from stephano anyway as he seems to get locked into ideas of whats the "right way to play", based on his public persona I think he'd argue rather than listen... | ||

The TL interview and it's true. Stephano plays by his guts he doesn't know why things work he just does it. Do you ever have that feeling OHH I have to do this and this, right now well he operates on that. We all have that to some extent. For instance my stomach starts hurting if I don't have turrets up at 11:30 in TvZ. It's just built into me. | ||

It's just built into me. you just say this because some crappy casters told you, he actually coaches very well and i've never seen someone comentating with more game insight than stephano, he commentated his stream a few times... I don't know where he got his knowledge from, since he claims to only practice a few hours a day and doesn't do to much other sc2 related things but he sure as hell knows what he is doing | ||

IdrA is still hating on Stephano? Funnily enough, around the first MLG MKP participated in (the one that Huk won if I recall correctly), IdrA said that MKP was the most overrated korean player and that Stephano will drop off when his "playstyle" will be "figured out". Look where these two players are now :D. Maybe he is hating because Stephano attracts more viewers than him, despite not even being american? edit : Oh and I played two games in a row against Stephano on the same map, he sure knows what he is doing given how he adapted. Dunno about his teaching skills though. | ||

Your brain is telling you subconciously due to previous experience that at 11:30 get turrets up or you lose. Stephano may not scientifically dissect the game, but to say he doesn't know what he is doing? I won't presume to know for certain what he thinks about or does with the game. My only point is no one could get this far not knowing what they are doing. besides doesn't IdrA still lose to mid masters protoss?.... Edit: 1 more hour til DAY 3 !!! HYPE | ||

No. IdrA said that it is extremely hard to talk to him about the game on a high level because Stephano is completely reactionary based on what he sees and he makes predictions that are always correct based on the small amount of information he receives which IdrA himself obiously can't mimic and Stephano probably can't explain thoroughly enough. He likes Stephano and stop assuming stuff before you type. | ||
