If he show'd some respect towards opponents I'm sure people would be less harsh for him/hes fanclub, if he wants to act as he does, then expect the same from the community.

Not flaming, just wanted to leave a opinion seeing how everyone is saying how critisism is pointed to "GTFO", he did good and made it to finals with warp prism and forcefields.

Naniwa had a brilliant run at providence, not as brilliant as Leenock, but did pretty damn well except the grand finals.
Getting countered when doing a FFE once its a warning, doing in every single game plus in xel naga caverns is pretty stupid to be honest. I hope he can accept this as a lesson and more importantly, to grow and correct this mistakes from happening again. Good luck in Code S

I really don't want to speak ill of Naniwa's play, but given how he's played I really don't mind Leenock's decision to "cheese" so much. It was a good way to deal with a player who was hell-bent on sticking to basically the same strategy (well, opening) every game, on every map. It sort of reminds me of how MC played at the end of his apex, where he was way too over-confident, but I guess it's not quite the same.

Also, even though Naniwa lost in the finals he's still a fucking hero for his accomplishments this weekend. And this way he didn't steal all the glory by taking the invitational and the national championship, so "for e-sports" I think this was a great turnout.

Let's hope that in the tournaments of 2012 we get to see a lot more of such evenly matched tournaments, as far as Korea vs foreigners go that is.

Nice play by Naniwa, but he kinda did the same 2-base play almost every game and Leenock figured it out, and punished him for it. Still, his army control and decision making were top notch. WP!

Ok i understand the hate that a lot of toss players here are expressing right now. BUT i must say one thing! Its Naniwas own fault that he lost the finals right there, because i think he is a better player then leenock right now. He had this fast-expand to 2base all in build figured out and took many zergs by surprise. It worked out perfectly against Nestea and throghout the tournament. But he became too predictable and was doing it in EVERY GAME on EVERY MAP! And as any good strategy it has a weakness, and this was the rush to roaches that leenock did it the finals almost every game. It is the only possible counter to naniwas strategy and it worked out great for leenock. He even perfected it in the last game where he only made a 5 roach attack and expanded behind it. So i understand a lot of toss players that are angry right now, but i think that we all should be glad that the final wasnt a TvT! And i am glad that naniwa showed us that protoss are still strong and can keep up with the other races and win tournaments!

Peace

I really don't think Leenock punished the 2-base play but rather Nani's nexus first openings. Leenock made himself get ahead in the early game. And because of this I think it's rather unfair to criticize his games for being 2 base plays. Powering up on 2 bases and exploiting timings is exactly one of the things Tastosis always recommends to players who are behind. When you're behind, more often than not you need to take a risk to get ahead again. Expanding quickly (taking his third) was one option. Attacking when his army was stronger was another. It really seems like a smart decision to me. Besides, why not get angry at the players who can't hold the 2 base timings instead of the one doing it?

On a related note, it is kinda sad that Leenock rushed his way to victory but Nani did perform the same opening pretty much every game. I'd like to see how Nani fares against Leenock when they're both even going into the midgame (or maybe with Nani slightly ahead even, as Nexus first seems to be a pretty strong opening for Protoss when unpunished)

NaNi took out some of the best players in the world this weekend and even though he couldn't quite close it out, he just added more evidence that foreigners are ramping up their game and cannot be overlooked in major tournaments. Keep up the good work dude and glglglglgl in the GSL!

Naniwa man,
You're probably very frustrated and hate yourself at the moment.
But just keep going and practicing hard, aim for the next tournament title.
You just proved yourself to be the best SC2 foreigner,
You just beat the best Terran, beat the best Zerg, beat the (previously) best foreign Protoss (not anymore, because you just claimed that title ; )
So its okay to get angry but fuck it, be proud too dude, you impressed everyone this weekend. Now make the best of that Code S and Aim for that GSL Title.
Cheers

Even with that loss in the finals that was some super sick play over the entire competition. Its weird, his play didn't seem all that refined (forgetting his Warp Gates a lot of the time, seemingly only having one opener) but he still played brilliantly. I can't imagine how monstrous he would be if he ironed out those kinks and keeps up his Korean practice schedule.

Also, I think the whole "bad manner" thing is showmanship, and something to add a little spice to the competition for the fans. Especially loved that moment on stage with DRG :D
