About NiP signing NTH: NTH currently seem to be sponsored by Astro (given their headsests at Starladder). NiP is not currently sponsored by Astro. The only team I know with Astro as a sponsor is EG.

And again: their first game of choise for expansion is LoL, according to Heaton. Interview at Cebit

My money's still on EG for Nani =)

Team Liquid needs a new personality, so I hope Naniwa goes to them. Joining WW would be kind of a letdown after all this hype imo.

NaNiwa is not an emo pro gamer:

"so excited for WCS :D i hope i can qualify and face off against MVP )) I want to play him once more in a best of 5"

So let's do an intelligent speculation on what team he could be joining. It could either be:
  1. Natus Vincere - NaVI have a strong prestige around them especially since they have one of the most successful Dota 2 teams in Europe and the world. Also, NaViWa would be incredible. FXOpen is also an organisation that Naniwa hasn't really burned bridges with so a sponsorship dispute is unlikely.
  2. Team Liquid - He was spotted on Jaedong's stream. If what he said about HuK threatening to leave/not wanting him on EG is true, Liquid`Naniwa is very likely. Also, they wouldn't let just any foreigner into the EG-TL house as it's meant to be in a top secret location. It would also not affect his rivalry with EG's roster.
  3. Evil Geniuses - Unlikely considering the drama between he and HuK, he and Thorzain and he and Stephano. If EG signed him, it would murder three rivalries just as it murdered the HuK v IdrA rivalry when they signed HuK.
  4. Western Wolves - With a lack of hardware sponsorship apart from Mad Catz and Triton Audio, this would allow Naniwa to continue his solo sponsorship with Mionix or allow Mionix to sponsor the entire WW roster.
  5. SK Gaming - The only player they presently have is MC. They really need to recruit an entire team. Then again, IM (who are in partnership with SK) have a dislike of Naniwa so it won't be like he'll be playing on their roster. Then again, he's likely friendlier with Mvp and Nestea and SKNaniwa wouldn't be a bad choice.
  6. Fnatic - Despite the drama between Naniwa and SaSe, it seemed more like it was because they lived in a pro house every day and were the only English speakers who knew each other well. If Fnatic set up a European house then signed him, he would likely have a larger circle of friends within the house. It would also mesh with his interests to stay in Europe now that WCS has fucked his previous Korean plans up.
  7. CMStorm - They have a personal sponsorship of Polt, a player who has moved to NA in order to compete.
  8. Karont3 - Let's see what Karont3 currently has in terms of its roster. Senor Hellbat (Lucifron) and Senor Patchzerg (Vortix) along with a few Spanish personalities who aren't really top tier pros. Naniwa doesn't really maintain a rivalry or bad blood with Duran Duran and it could work out well for him. It would also be (to my knowledge) the first non-Spanish signing they would make.
  9. ROOT Gaming - VERY unlikely. Naniwa wants to focus on Europe WCS for starters and they released ToD after he left the US.
  10. A KeSPA team - There is presently no bad blood between Naniwa or any of the KeSPA teams. But it would be suspicious if Naniwa was let in the EG-TL house as a rival pro in that situation.
  11. Startale - This is also a possibility. Naniwa would be a huge pick-up for the team but it's doubtful if they'd pay for his travel to Europe.
  12. Dignitas - Was reportedly happening until the house fire that affected Odee. Could still happen as they've shed a lot of their SC2 roster lately. Would Naniwa be interested in a UK eSports team and competing in low tier events like the ESET UK Masters or Insomnia LANs?

SK. How could such a big team with only one player, miss the chance of having two of the biggest names on their team? MC and Naniwa would finally make SK one of the biggest names in Starcraft. Also, i doubt IM holds sum grudge against Naniwa. Nestea definitely does not atleast.

He is trolling I guess, I read somewhere Naniwa said either this week or next one the announcement will be made. I guess his new team has maybe some introduction video or something planned for the release that's taking so long(?).

They must be revising the announcement to reflect the influence WCS had on Naniwas current career goals.

Today, the players of the No Tidehunter DotA 2 team, along with independent StarCraft 2 player Johan "NaNiwa" Lucchesi, are pleased to announce the creation of Alliance: a new professional gaming team. Formed in collaboration with Razer, one of the world's pioneering supporters of eSports, Alliance will focus on both DotA 2 and SC2, and look to gradually expand its StarCraft roster over the course of 2013.

"Being involved in the creation of a brand new professional gaming team of this caliber is a very special opportunity and we're honored to have been a part of the creation process," said Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director. "By supporting and helping to drive the unique opportunities Alliance provides for professional players, we hope to continue to deliver the absolute best of eSports to both a Scandinavian and worldwide audience."

"We are extremely happy to be a part of the birth of Alliance. We are proud to be a part of something new. We strive for perfection, and with the support from our sponsor, Razer, this will be a great organization." said Jonathan "Loda" Berg.

Johan "NaNiwa" Lucchesi commented, "A few months ago I was searching for a team that could help me become the best player I could possibly be. It stood between a few teams and I'm 100% sure, since I've been with this team for a while, that I have made the right choice. Not only are they trying their best to fulfill my wishes, but are very professional while doing so. I am very happy to be a part of this team.”

No Tidehunter and NaNiwa will be sporting the shiny, new Alliance tag effective immediately, and have been using Razer mice, keyboards, and mousepads for quite some time now. Be sure to follow the Alliance DotA 2 team at the upcoming RaidCall EMS ONE Finals, held in Katowice on April 20th & 21st, and to follow NaNi at the upcoming DreamHack Open event, held in Stockholm on April 26th & 27th!
