Things like that happen, you can't have perfect conditions in every tournament. Also, the lag applies to everyone, so you cloud just not build your cyber-core and gateway in the middle of the map and hope your all in works, instead use army compositions like speedlot-archon-collosus which force the terran to micro or die.
This is not the first time naniwa makes something like that. Actually he is hurting E-sports and Starcraft more than blizzard with his bad temper.
lol get out of here kid. just go.

Perfect conditions? Thats a bit of an understatement eh? He demands more of himself and therefore also more from the tournament arrangers. Also people who demand Nani to play is in the wrong fanclub he plays when he can win. He cannot win with lag so he leaves tournament. Guess one has to wait for GSL January to get some naniwa action.

he did try and he did play out all games. It's IEM's fault for even starting the games with lag. They should of waited until it was fixed.... ofcourse players will get frustrated when lag affects their play......

Looks like he maybe changed his mind, hopefully!!

But PLEASE naniwa, play for your fans if not for yourself, or you'll end up without fans at all one day.
Go try to play a game for money with 200ms latency. I'll be surprised if you don't pull your hair out if you don't forfeit before that.

I really dont agree with your metaphor. Its more like trying to play the soccer game with a square ball instead of a round one. Its unfortunate for the tournament if they have problems with lag, but can you blame players for not wanting to play under these conditions? I don't think so because this is not how the game is meant to be played, and im sure they dont practice this way so all the training would have less effect on the outcome of the match, at least on this level of play.
So I support Nanis decission, I'm a fan as well but I have no interest in mediocre lag games as it will not show the true potential of the players. With that said I dont want to take away any credits from Strelok, just trying to justify Nanis decission if he now chooses to not play any further in this tournament.
|
lol what a joke the connection seems to be at IEM Kiev. Or the computers. Dunno if it's the actual internet or computer lag.
Just look at how laggy the end of the game White_Ra vs Strelok was.
|
Thanks a lot Nani, you really stepped it up for your fans man, head up and take the tournement by storm.
|
It's a pain in the ass to compete under conditions you had no chance to prepare for (rainy football isn't like that), still, I think staying in tournament was the right decision.
|
Naniwa is probably pretty pissed right now. Hopefully it won't affect his next games.
|
You all know what they say about the vehicle of esports....
That aside, the one to be blamed here isnt Blizzard or Naniwa. It is the tournament organisers: As anyone watching the stream knows, Imba.Strelok experienced massive COMPUTER LAG at the end of his match with WhiteRa (mass battle), with neither player anywhere near max (120ish supply with workers included?). And all games have now been pushed back another 80 minutes.
I suppose some more experienced player like Grubby might go tell Nani that this is how it's always been like.. and is going to keep being like this for a while. The industry is still pretty young.

Makes me feel like they should reset this tournament and replay all games when lag has been resolved. But i guess that will never happen.

Naniwa can do this, if he sits down and plays his best regardless of the conditions, he will still get through.
|
I'm glad Nani is back in the tourney now. If he makes it out of the group, Titan's probably going to have to beat Strelok, but that's not an improbable course of events. Nani needs to, of course, win both his games (WhiteRa and TitaN).
