Nestea found his prodigy in this kid. Good lord he is amazing to watch play. As long as he doesn't lose any more games due to his dancing lings I'm a fan for life xD
...ok even if he loses another one, it'll still be epic right?
Consider me in, Losira just doesn't seem to lose games at all... all that training with NesTea must have paid off. Not to mention I love the way he steals all of HuK's ceremonies, and he decided to face RainbOw in the Up/Down when HuK specifically stated he wanted to face him. Losira's got a ton of personality, great for the scene
Quickly becoming one of my favorite zergs, i've been impressed with his play ever since the first team league when he beat Byun in horizontal positions on shakuras. He has only gotten better since then.
I wanna sign up to Losira fanclub! Ever since Idra left GSL and Nestea went out in groups I've been looking for good zerg player i can become a fan off LOSIRA4GSL CHAMPION! FIGHTING!
Even if you don't like Zerg. Even if you don't like his play style. Even if you don't like super BM dancing zerglings which lose you a match.
You've got to love how much this guy loves playing. Everytime he wins, there's just joy playing across his face. Too often players just look stressed, or that they are there because they might be good at the game rather than the fact that they love doing it.
Sign me up! Im really hoping for Losira to become what Nestea was in GSL 2 and stay that way. Not to mention with him being on the IM team theres no doubt he has plenty of good practice partners to become a top contending Zerg, not to mention he's rather young. Looking forward to him making a big impact in the next GSL.

Yeah, it's probably the easiest group, I'd expect genius and losira
Sadly it will probably Hongun and Losira, because Hongun somehow seems to be able to pull off crazy wins, combined with Genius being a bit subpar lately, particularly in the TSL. Either way, free RO16 for Losira so I'm happy.

Every Korean played like garbage in the TSL (yes, even NaDa and MC weren't up to their usual standards), so you really can't use that as a gauge of current form. He did play decently against mvp in the up/down, but again, mvp didn't play very well, so I'd take that with a grain of salt. Either way, I'd say that instead of Genius being subpar, it's more that his current form is unknown.
Gogogo losira! If someone can change the metagame of the already broken ZvP, its you!!! (and no, please dont do the mass baneling drop tactic that you did back in code A) <3 <3 <3
Really think he is one of the top 5 zergs in the world if not higher.
I'm expected really good results in the upcoming GSL. His mechanics are great, decision making is great, and he is just plain adorable. What's not to like?
Awesome update, Losira's next competitive match won't be Code S, we can in fact see him play a few days earlier in CSN's awesome Clash of the Houses event.
They've got an in house IM tournament happening on Monday night; Losira is in a group with Yoda, Pippi and True. The winner of the group plays the winner of the other group (Seed, Yonghwa, Horrow, & Junwi) in the finals =)

I feel like the strategy vs Genius was incomplete. He HAD to know that the colossi would be alive after the battle, didn't he?
The first 8pool game was the biggest WHAT moment in SC2 for me so far. I guess counters really don't exist.
there were some execution and decision flaws in his play against genius, but it also didnt help that genius had luck with scouting the infestation pit. anyways, during that game i was amazed by losiras play and he gave me the feeling that he is capable of doing miraculous things in the future (didnt expect it to be in the next matches against kyrix, lol).
@the 8pools: yeah, sorry i missed the first 1.5-2 mins of the first match against kyrix. looked like 6pool to me at that point.
I thought it was funny that Nestea apparently told him not do it and he almost made it work lol. That map tho is however really really hard for zerg players because its so hard to get a 3rd and you have to stay 2 base for so long. I am really hoping he preps well for Alicia because Alicia seems to be man-handling people. Hopefully it will be LosirA vs. Alicia and not LosirA vs. Maps. I really makes me mad that these 2 up and coming great players have to meet so early in the GSL, but sadly thats how it is.
I've been a huge huge fan since I first saw him play in the GSL 1 against TLO. At the time I thought his style was really refreshing, and it's really nice to see him do so well a few month after that. Sign me up. Probably my favorite Korean player
And he seems like a really cool guy too. I cannot not be a fan.
Sign me UP! I've literally mimicked all of his ZvP strategies for quite some time, but after today's show, Losira is my favorite player of all times! I'll now go destroy another dozen master tosses like bronze babies.
In case you haven't watched today's match yet, don't read the spoilertext: + Show Spoiler +
I'm really sad LosirA was taken out today. He showed some amazing skill dealing with the 16rine/wave pressure, it's very much understandable that he didn't handle the infestors ultimately during all that.
Yet I really fear many terrans will take over this strategy. It seems really easy to perform.. I can imagine this is even deadly using A-move.. well at least on a diamond or below level..

No need for spoiler tags in the fanclub guys, anyone reading should be expected to know the results already, it's fairly evident there'd be discussion of the games in his own fanclub! =)
I'm sad he lost, but it was a good debut season in Code S and there's not many people that can say they made R8 on their first try!
Hopefully he can build on it for the future; there should be plenty of time for awesome displays in the GSTL and hopefully the super tournament too!
@Asha Well said. He's just in it, might have been nervous too. Still showed very good decisionmaking and he can probably outperform himself if he has to deal with this situation again.
@Zuor Ok, banelings are indeed a lot easier to control than splitting marines.. that said, losira still controls them in subgroups getting more efficiency even during the splitting. So maybe on a lower level it would compare.. and then the attackmover has an easier time macroing doing all it.. well at least, I think this strategy for terran is less APM intensive than it is for zerg, don't you think?
has anyone wrote out the builds? i don't have gsl season ticket so i cant watch his stuff. i'd greatly appreciate the infestorling/3gate expand pressure/any kind of build that isnt roach/hydra/corrupter

@apalemorning. This is the build he did vs alicia, set 1: You might wish to organize it a little better ;-) 2base RoachLing Pressure build vs Protoss 3Gate expand
no early scout 16extractor & pool 16 hatch & 3 -> gas lord pool done lings (send to scout) & 2 <- gas (leave 1 drone on gas as soon as your pool is finished, this means you don't have 100gas yet for speed!) Yeah, I remember some weeks ago in the youtube Artosis channel he used to put videos o InControl versus Zerg and saying "This guy is godly PvZ, he never loses"
Yep losiras game was so bad, u could see on hes face something was wrong, im sure hes keyboard was still messed up or lag or something else that prevented him from playing optimally, i guess he stopped used hes keyboard all in all, and clicked everything or so, atleast seemed like it. the way he tried to throw down hes third hatch it looked like he used hes mouse with out using hotkeys...
You remind me of a cute koala bear haha. I'm a terran player and you are literally the only zerg I enjoy to stomp on terrans and protoss alike. Losira Fighting!!

ya apparently replay shows his APM only at 90 in game 2 lol
Lee Chen @MLGLee Lee Chen #mlg losira did 187 apm with just his mouse in the @EGiNcontroL match. Stat by @MLGStephen

While that's pretty impressive, I don't think it's 100% technically accurate since he did seem to have some keyboard functionality. However the replay shows just how much things were fucking up for him with injects failing, selections automatically control grouping themselves on active hotkeys etc etc. Horrible situation in general.
--
Regardless that's all out of the way anyway, 3-0 in the groups and just a ZvZ (ugh) vs Machine to go + whoever comes up from the Open bracket. Hopefully he can take out Machine and get a good buffer up before whoever comes out of the Open bracket makes it to him.
Losira himself told me that his keyboard stopped working completely. It's not a mistranslation, it's not anything. I dunno what else to say about the matter.
It's a minor blip in an excellent weekend so far? He won the series, I'm content regardless xD
Looks like MajOr is going to wind up in Losira's group, that's definitely a winnable match though MajOr is looking in pretty awesome forrm and has a good TvZ. Should be good games ^^

That was awesome, didn't see much of him playing well before but I'm now a fan. That build may stop forge first stargate openings as there is no risk, you see the air units just throw up a nydus <3.

It is a sign from god as Flash also twitches crazily :D
I'm disappointed that the extended series rule meant he wasn't able to show us as many games against MMA.
Still, I'm incredibly impressed with LosirA's play. I admit, I didn't think he stood a chance against MC, but I was very glad to be proven wrong. It was just such a shame the finals were over so quickly =(

That replay should be used for the funday monday this week.
my favorite zerg other than idra. was so funny watching him on the bottom when he was on the main stage the guy just can't sit still he was popping his neck and looking straight up every 10 seconds. he also has cool hair, so that's a plus.
anyone notice him channeling his inner flash before game one with the cheek grabbing? only saw game one so idk if he did it anymore, really need to buy a season ticket :[
On July 20 2011 19:56 Tachion wrote: How come Losira didn't use banelings today? :[ i thought it was his trademark.
I don't think he ever said that his baneling trademark would be used in ZvP, only ZvT. Funny thing is, he started using the superior Line/DRG mass-muta style against TOP anyways. I honestly don't think he would have beaten TOP with his old mass-baneling/roach style.
I think we can put to bed the notion that Losira is bad at ZvT now. 6-1 against MKP, TOP, and Byun. Not quite enough to say he's good at ZvT, but he's definitely not bad.
I think the notion was that it's not his best matchup not that he's bad at it. Happy for LoSira that he made the finals. I personally love ZvZ so I'm happy to see master vs pupil ZvZ.
So IM have one GSL Open championship, three GSL Code S championships, one GSTL championship, one GSL World Championship and one GSL Code A championship. Am I forgetting anything?
Losira is still a student of the game and I know that after some time, he will truly shine. Nestea is currently the best player in the world right now, and Losira will be given the torch once he retires. Go go go Losira!! Sign me up!! : )
I can't believe he got cheesed out. I can honestly say Losira was the better player and I'm glad he stuck in there, that bunker at the expo and pylon at the ramp is so deceiving though, the only way for him to see it with a chance was an overlord. And I don't think the overlord would have seen the 3 gateways. Feel bad but I doubt many people doubt he will make it right back to where he was last season very soon.

Blame it on July ^.^
Losira is an amazing player he should get through Up and Downs pretty easy. Plus, Genius and Losira are good buddies. It's nothing disrespectful. It seems that friends tend to cheese each other more than play macro games in tournaments. Also, Genius is always getting cheesed out of tournaments he rarely ever cheeses and mostly goes for macro play. Losira just didn't expect it.
:[ Now my favorite player is out of the GSL. He held on so well during both of those games, it was ridiculous. I love watching how he plays out being bunker rushed. If I recall in either the GSTL or last season he got bunker rushed on Crossfire and managed to come back and win even after losing the hatch.
How am I not a fan in this club....I've been saying he's the second best player in the world, and got a picture with him when it was nestea Inca.....his head is fat!
Lol he did play well against DRG but he transitioned into infestors too late, that he lived as long as he did despite being down supply and sometimes down on upgrades is a testament to Losira's skill. I think he needs a few more seasons to be a complete monster but he's certainly dangerous. I just watched the MLG global invitational vods of him vs liquid hero, that was some nice play with some classic Losira style Nydus.

It was hard cheering for Losira bb because he was behind the entire game. But yeah, I think Losira will make it far in the GSL this season, but I feel he needs more experience to get into the same conversation of SC2 greats like Nestea, MVP and MC. But no matter what, I will keep cheering on Losira!!
AAAAND GAAAH! That Losira fanart is damn cute. My new wallpaper!!
I was a little worried when Ganzi (my other favorite) beat you in your opening game. But when things cleared and Hongun and July were set as your probable next opponents, I knew you had it.
Glad Losira made it to the round of 16 this season, god watching him in the up /downs last season was so frustrating. I want to say he can make it far this season but he faces a team mate next and a Terran at that. Either way I'm looking forward to some inspirational play from our boy of many hair colours.
Congrats for the round of 16 finish! Although it was short and I was expecting a deeper run from Losira bb, I'm happy that he will be in the next season! Gooooo Losira!

Aww he didn't win MLG ( he was my orignal sleeper pick) but I'm pleased with how well losira performed regardless. He needs to come to more foriegn events.
I agree, Losira is the player that has yet to release his full potential. Once he does though, the world won't be ready to handle his insatiable hunger.

With that in mind if there's anyone active who'd like to take over as fanclub head (preferably active long term) I will talk to a mod about swapping ownership (if that's posssible) since I've done a pretty poor job the last couple of months.

haha he's not the only one who's got "his" own taste of music. I generaly mute 90% of the korean/taiwanese (yes Sen you !) streams myself. Such sad sounding songs in general but LosirA's play makes more then up for it i'd say.

Just watch his stream and see there or then you can download one LosirA replay (latest ones are from MLG Winter Arena I think) and use SC2Gears to see what hotkeys he uses in those replays.
Holy shit Losira is smart, he evacuated his drones to the smoke area on antiga and then burrowed them so when Strelok came to kill the base and then scanned for burrowed drones he didn't see any and just left when the base was dead. It won;t always work and relies on yoru creep spread letting you see a push headed to an undefendable base but damn that was a good 20 or so drones saved by quick thinking.

I'm in bad need for a ZvT build, and Losira seems to have quite a sexy one worked out for him - he gets a fast exe, fast ling speed, takes drones off gas, 4 queens and pumps drones for a bit. Does anyone have a replay from him where he uses that build? Or any ZvT replay after the current queen buff? I'm asking here because I didn't really know where else to look. And btw, is it me or is Losira the fastest SC2 pro around? Gives me a headache to watch his stream, its insane!

Well you could try to replay his stream again or MLG quali and matches. There is the EWM where he played alot or the Chinese Stars War 7 or you could try the KSL. All easy access via Liquipedia That is about all his "very current" recordings you can find of him i believe as alot like his Code A qualifier is not recorded. You will have to do some digging on your own, i am rather lazy but Liquipedia is just fantastic to link you where you wanne be even for vods/replay's.
About his speed, i would say he's one of the fastest pro gamers out there though i believe Puzzle has the highest apm around. But LosirA managed 200 apm last year with a mouse alone vs Incontrol when his keyboard broke. Scary stuff
Losira playing so good at GSTL against TSL! Already won 3 games. Game against Polt was really good, i think Losira has one of the best zvt but he makes too many banelings

Imo its about decision making Losira makes sometimes dumb decisions (like every one) like overdoing banelings. Dont get me wrong Losira is awesome

200 supply of Banelings > everything
No, not really, but you can never have enough banelings.

i love losira, but there is so much more to a game than multitasking...
Alive is a hard draw for tomorrow but I have faith, you can win this thing Losira ^-^ At the very least he's done well enough to qualify for pool play for the championships so IM has no excuse to not send him.
I just tuned in to Losira's stream and my window was messed up so I could only see the left side of the screen.
The screen was moving so fast I initially thought he was watching a replay on x8 speed. Turns out he was just playing. wtf.
I've been a big Losira fan since he first came onto the scene back when I played zerg. So happy to see him come into success again. He has a pretty distinct style and really high apm so it's always a pleasure to watch the things he pulls off in games.
Omg why don't the IM zerg's stream with health bars? How can you play like that? I don't understand. Would love to watch your stream but this is so infuriating. -_-

It is nice for infestors, otherwise it doesn´t really matter imo. You hardly micro anyway.
Losiracat is adorable as always ^-^. He didn't go on his usual tear at the TAC3 finals but overall throughout the season he was instrumental in IM's sucess.
Not the epic MLG run I was hoping for but Losira did well enough and still seems to be in good overall condition. I'm actually really hyped to see him in next GSTL season whenever that starts up. I know individual leagues are more important in sc2 and that Losira can take down a tournament if he wants to but I prefer to see him wrecking face in teamleague.

oh nonononono can't be true
But if he is switching, i hope he goes to the IM LoL team. Pretty easy transition to stay in the same house.

:/ that looked pretty good already...I think he might have chosen that map like "Go ahead make a immortal push its good on this map" and had been working to counter it. Sadly it didn't work out . I'm Terran player but i'm hoping Losira to beat Ryung/Byun ) my fav zerg gogogogogo Losira you got this!!
Luckly there isn't many protoss players left in code S, LosirAs worst matchup has always been zvp. 1 match left vs either ByuN or Ryung, LosirA fighting!
As I said before, it would be awesome to see losira in Hots. I hope he continues to go ultras because hydra ling ultra baneling viper is soooo awesome to watch
Best game ever whoaaah I'm big fan of both Gumiho and Losira hopefully they will both get to ro8 even though that game must have been really tiring for them, haha. What if Losira would have used his infestor energy to fungal or infested marines instead of grabbing those medivacs with mind control? (I think it was just for BM because it looked quite ok for losira at that point) Also what if he had saved just one drone :D it would have been so close game, which it was already! Good game Losira even though you lost!
So Losira apparently changed his ID. He had been using Kangho in beta, but the ID change is kind of unexpected. I liked Losira, and that's what everyone knew him as. :/ These Korean progamers and their IDs...

Oh well...
Et tu, Losira? I wasn't sure if he had changed it or it was just to reduce TLPD confusion in the Fantasy GSTL. But, at least KangHo is his RL name, which is a namechange I can understand. :p

True, yet koreans often seem to miss how important keeping your name is. Oh well gotta design a new nameplate for the frontpage now

Happy birthday, and congrats on making to the round of 16. :D Great play today, showing good understanding of ZvZ and adapted nicely in the close match against TaeJa.
ouch sOs will be hard opponent but Losira can do it!!! I think that sOs and Bogus are the two best players this season if he can beat sOs he might even win this season that would be epic.
Good try by the catzerg at WCS today, I had hoped to see him advance but at least he gave me entertaining games. His sadface after losing to Mvp was heartbreaking. I'm hoping he can remain consistent for a while because he really is amazing when he's on his A game.
