It confuses me when people speak of results damaging his reputation. His reputation with his fans, the people that understand what he is capable of, will not be so easily swayed. In order to lose any true fans he would have to completely change his personality and his approach to competition. On June 25 2011 02:02 Arkan wrote: I have to agree, hes such a smart guy and I love seeing him in state of the game, but his tournament results are really hurting him. It's also perplexing to think that competing in tournaments could actually hurt him. The fact that he continues to compete despite poor performance further reinforces one of the main reasons I'm a fan in the first place: he has heart. He understands that every mistake only leads to him becoming a better player. With this attitude and his potential, it is only a matter of time until he is at the top again. During that journey, I'll continue to watch him, root for him, and look forward to the day when we can all look back at this part of his SC2 career and see how a champion is born.

Really if you are only a fan when your player is winning... You are not really a fan. I feel more like he's not giving it all he has, or even most of it. I'm fine with people who play regularly but simply can't compete with the best, but when people say they weren't practicing for like half a year now, then I'm starting to doubt them.

Tyler is like everyone favorite underdog, People who watched TSL 2 know this, he has a very interesting play style and has a genuine love of the game and that is why he has garnered so many fans. Tyler just needs to do what he loves to do and I am sure he will still have support from his fans, Wins or Losses

"Constructive criticism" is one thing; but complaints and obvious criticisms (like "you should practice more") from random people who know nothing about Tyler's situation are about as non-constructive and useless as it's possible to get, and do nothing but make Tyler more depressed and less likely to get out of his slump. You don't beat on a guy when he's down, especially if you're claiming to be his fan.

You probably mean well, but we don't know enough details of the situation to make comments like you did. By saying he "refuses" to put in the effort, you make it sound like he doesn't care. The truth is none of us know his real situation so we should refrain from making accusations. We all agree Tyler is a smart guy, so he will do what will ultimately help his career. As fans we should hope whatever he does makes him happy and yields in better tournament results.

SC2 is a more volatile game so he can't just play safe and in his comfort zone all the time. As soon as he starts getting it and winning a few tournaments I think it will snowball. Tyler: I'm sure you know this but the people who are dissing you now just bandwagoners. When you start doing well those same people will be saying "see I knew he had it in him", so don't worry about them and keep doing your thing. Most of your fans still support you regardless of your results.

I dunno, we know he's a salaried sponsored progamer with tons of talent who when he applies himself is an S-class foreigner (TSL2). We know he's not practicing and is thus losing (0-6 in HC3). He just has trouble motivating himself and that was supposed to be motivational.

Tournament results or not Tyler is a huge part of this community and we should all feel lucky that we get to be a part of that on a daily basis. To be completely honest I like the way Coach Tyler sounds. Spread your knowledge brah!!!

He just has trouble motivating himself and that was supposed to be motivational. All I'm saying is that he could be trying to finish his degree. Or maybe he's trying to apply to law school and is studying a lot. For all we know his practice time could be restricted or maybe he has more important things to attend to. The truth is we don't know, so we shouldn't try to claim he lacks motivation. Either way I think we can agree that we really hope to see him do well.
