You think he would travel across the country/world to go into a tournament and not take it seriously? That despite he hasn't actually won any tournaments, he's better than anyone there and just losing because he doesn't want to show his hand? That makes no sense at all.

Tyler has won the tournament TSL2 in BW and won bo7 showmatches against both Jinro and Idra.
Of course he did not lose on purpose in MLG, though. He said it himself in SotG, he felt 'off'. If you watch the replays from MLG you can see that he occasionally starts messing around with his own units, even shooting his own stuff when things are going bad, it looks like he's frustrated (or just having fun, I don't know).
But if you compare that to the way he plays on his stream, there's, in my eyes, a big difference. (http://no.justin.tv/liquidtyler/b/283072322) I would say the execution there is nearly flawless. I think Tyler can play at a level which is either above the level or matching the level of anyone else, but there's the matter of managing to summon that.

@Dystisis Totally agree with you, I would add that one reason why his execution may not be as flawless as he has shown us, is because he doesn't play as much as SeleCT would or anyone who
has an insane amount of games played in ladder.
And even if he did play as much doesn't guarantee he won't under perform, every players are eventually going to place lower than they could have in tournaments because there's so much things that he might not have been prepared for.
I'm probably stating the obvious though :D, but my point is that I don't feel too bad about his MLG Dallas' run, he's still seeded for the next MLG and I'm sure he will do better in the future!

Yes teeler's ferrets are quite awesome. When I first saw them on SOTG I read up quite a bit on ferrets as I previously did not know much about them.
