My name is Jeffrey Brusi, better known as "SjoW". I'm from Sweden and I live in Stockholm. I'm a professional gamer currently playing for team-dignitas. Before I started playing SC2 I played poker professionally and Warcraft 3 TFT semi professionally.
My goal in SC2 is to become the best in the world. It wont be an easy task since millions of other players are trying to achieve the same goal, but with my high class work ethics, top notch fundamental understanding of the game and great motivation I have no doubt I will achieve it someday.
A personal message from SjoW: <3 my terran brothers.
Post below to become a member! I'm sure SjoW will follow this thread so u can leave a message for him too! Also leave me some feedback for new sections.
For all of those looking forward to him in Korea.. he stated in JP and friends that he probably won't go because of the number of tourneys in EU and NA.
SjoW is an inspiration for all of us. Gives us noobs hope with his less mecahnics demanding playstyle and more thought process put into the game. I'm obviously in!

I somehow doubt millions of people are trying to be the best SC2 player.
It should be everybodys goal who plays sc2 imo. If not, why play?
Anyways, he is pretty close in my opinion, and he seems to be one of the most successful sc2 players since release so he is on his way.
EDIT: typo
Having fun basically. If I honestly wanted to be the best I'd ladder 24/7 and participate in tournaments showing good results and then try to get into a good clan which can support me @ Korea.

I call it losing.
Then you're not a true terran brother.
Sjow has a huge problem against protoss, he gets kicked out by semi-pro protoss players all the time
This seems a bit of an overreaction. It may not be his best matchup but a 'huge problem' when he just beat Socke and White-Ra in the biggest European tournament?

Yeah, it'd be hard to have a matchup better than TvZ
Snarking aside, Sjow just got way outplayed (at least vs. Sein, the one I watched). Sometimes the no scout pays off, sometimes it bites you in the arse. Just the name of the game.

Ok, huge is not the right word, I was watching too much Tastosis lately. But I think protoss is definitely his weakest match-up.
I remember that he got kicked out by protoss players quite often in the tsl qualifiers and on the other hand he wins against the top guys that you mentioned. Maybe he needs some more practice with nAni .
Game 1: Sjow wins. Game 2: 9 pylon 9 gate right outside his ramp on Xel'Naga, makes one zealot and pulls all probes which ultimately kills Sjow. The game went on with Sjow trying to survive with 1 scv, a floating command center and two marines but it was over. Game 3: Delta Quadrant 4gate, places pylon so he can warp in by the rocks and Sjow only has two supply depots walling off that ramp, so the zealots waltz in while the rest of the P units walk in the front.
Game went on for ages as Sjow.. uh, had some late GG timing but he did try for a while with some attempted banshee harass and an expansion, but he was so far behind it didn't matter. The P left most units at his base and used his stalkers with blink to prevent the expansion and snipe a few tanks. Commendable effort but he was too far behind.
I think he was too risking when not scouting proxy in g2, I dont think its that huge lost when 1 SCV is not mining, especially in trade for info that proxy is coming. My english sucks, but you know what I mean
in my opinon what kills sjow is his lack of scouting combined with his very smart and effective playstyle. He is a player that truely plays against his "human" oponnent rather then just playing tvp .. thats why he was able to beat so many top players even with his "bad" mechanics he just figures them out then outpalys them ; he has a very deep understanding of the game.
This is his biggest strengh and why i like him so much. ( i always think : if he wins with 100 apm i can do it too =))) sadly this isnt true ) However vs medicore palyers this isnt the best way to play and often times it harms u more then it helps.
Sjow is on an interview live now on goodgame.ru he said when asked about korea "i got accepted into foreign house, but i am having second thoughts because there is something big coming up in sweden and it will be alot like korea so i might stay".

O_O
I guess that might have something to do with TLO's 'apartment in stockholm' facebook post.
Sign me up. Sick sick sick fucking sick TvP. Just saw a vod of him destroying a protoss opponent with a 1-2 marine/hellion/tank push. Last game i saw of him was in the winter assembly stream where he lost to a 1gate proxy gate and a 4warpgate rush I love you sjow but scout bro!
They will be showing SjoW's game with Select today as the second game at MLG, after Idra-Socke; should be around 6:30 local time in Dallas, so I think around 1:30 am CET. Im really interested if Sjows TvT has changed much since the last time we saw him at the big stage :D
Sjow looked really strong today. Somewhat clunky mechanics, but still winning games with his excellent game sense, making Huk look like a fool in the process. I didn't expect such a strong showing, especially since he had almost no opportunity to practice for it.
Hope you can refine your game even further with TLO and co!
Sounds like a very convincing win in his first NASL game
Might have to actually try catch that part of the rebroadcast to see how he was playing his twist on tank/bio vs toss
ed: realised it was a bit silly not to spoiler tag things given there hasn't been the EU friendly rebroadcast yet, and not everyone is just reading the results in the morning. Apologies if anyone was inconvenienced by that.
:D:D:D I just met him today! I also got a picture with him and Naniwa, so I'll be posting it as soon as my uncle gives me the SD card. They were very nice about letting me have a picture!
Sign me up plz! Sjow is my favorite player in SC2. I just love his playstyle. Are there any replays released after IEM from Sjow, cause I can't find any recent ones?
And under the spoiler tag there are more of the variant above. Tried to make them for all the categories listed. More headers:+ Show Spoiler +
Feel free to edit in anyway or make some for other fan threads. I used the trial version of Photoshop and even though it was the first time, by googling a few times for different mini tutorials, I was able to get the hang of it fairly quick. Apart from figuring out a few things by far the hardest part was organizing it all. I really needed to set up some sort of template layout before being able to get some speed behind it. It was hard to decide on a good way to distribute this. I finally settled for a standard post like this with all the information available to everyone and a PM to notify the person running the page of this post.
As a disclaimer: The idea originally came from the Cool/FruitDealer fan thread by jongim. Link and also Cool to see it in action: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=156570 I contacted him before starting to work on them because I wanted to make sure that I was allowed to. He was flattered I caught inspiration from his project and had no problems with me doing so.
I have made similar ones for some other fan threads.I really like the concept of the head cutouts. But one of the main reasons for me to do this was to give each a nicer and more organised look. With all the different layouts of the various fan threads, it becomes easy to lose overview. Using any type of header improves on this a lot. And I hope it will inspire other people do something similar for their favorite players, just like it did for me.
If you look closely you can see the edges of the picture. I have no idea why that is happening, I used screenshots of the forum as the background. To verify that I haven't made a mistake in this, before posting, I tested this again and the color codes are exactly the same on the far right as the far left, when you use the teardrop tool. There is no visual difference when I used a cut-out of a recent screenshot of the forum as the background layer as well as taking the color of the screenshot layer and ,for example, making a box on the current background layer, with that color. Maybe it's a super special color code that you just cannot replicate exactly? To make sure you can't blend pictures in or Photoshop screencaps or something? :O
Sign me up! It saddens me that he said in that interview that he doesn't have full motivation, cause hes so good and were just not seeing it! hopefully in the house he will become a beast!
Sign me up as well. I think that Sjow is an amazing player with actually quite a unique style that I really like. He also seems like a great guy and I as a swede, I believe he's a good ambassador for E-sports!
To Sjow: I'd love for you to become even more active in the social debate. I'd love for your teamhouse to call TV4 or SVT and ask them to do a documentary about it.. I really believe that would be a huge success for the station and probably a "Hallelujah-moment" for your sponsors!
I stole a TvT mech build I saw Sjow using, and I'm doing so much better in TvT now. I don't feel lost and confused anymore. Thanks for the awesome build Sjow!
Sign me up! He was one of the first players that started streamin on SC2 and he was the first progamer that i followed. Then i signed in at this site here lol...
Day9 and Husky were spot on about Sjow earlier, he's one of the most consistent players but recently hasn't swept anything, incredible performance at Raleigh though. He's sort of like Nada in that sense as far as SC2 goes.
Sad that he lost but he will become even better in Korea. Also sad to see that most of the crowd cheered for HerO and barely anyone clapping when SjoW took first map. Last non-korean in the tournament... should get more appreciation
SjoW:" I opened with a pretty fast expansion and scouted no expansion with my initial helion so I thought I was ahead so I just defended. The problem was he made an inbase no gas expansion I was told so he was the one in a good economic advantage.
Both made some harass with equal success and then he tried to go for the kill but changed his mind going for a contain instead. When I finally broke out of it, I saw he had taken both gold expansions so I knew he was trying to toy with me. It didnt effect me much, I just played on my advantage and went from there. The win felt better after though, KARMA!"
Such a great series. It's great that he kept his cool when a lot of players would have gone on tilt.
He won 2-1 with better upgrades, composition and straight up macro.
I really admire his style, and especially the fact that he is "low" APM player, but effective. I myself do not have the highest APM but i think im effective with what i got.

+1, sjow is a great guy, and Jinro is getting lonely as only terran xp
well I dont think he can make it into the semis, but it has been a really impressive run so far. Good to see another EU Terran rising because we are lacking terrans.
One of the most incredible games I have ever seen. Life barely holding on then pushing Sjow to the brink, but then Sjow held onto sweet Life and said, "It's Sjow time." And he staved off Life and counterattacked, beating Life in the biggest upset of Heart of the Swarm. Bigger than Soulkey beating Innovation for the reverse 4-0.
Sign me up please, that was the best game I've every seen in my life. I hope he will win a lot of tournaments, I wish him the best of luck and success in his progamer career.
excellent run but dissapointing semi final vs stardust .... u gotta work on your tvp alot ..... those freaking proxy stargate oracle strategies got you twice today

I've been a fan of his ever since he won 8 CraftCups in a row.
It's ok, I'm not a bandwagooner too(Have too many players I like to mention in my signature and I posted here before the shitstorm too). I wouldn't think any less of anyone either if they jumped it considering we don't know if SjoW will make a upset about Sc2 again I hope he practice to DH Winter now
Fantastic play against Life! That game #3 was just... I was screaming at the top of my lungs when you won, dude!! It's been a while since I did that hehehe!!!

I'll call myself a bandwagon fan I really don't care. I knew who he was but never really watched, until the series with Life, and wow, such an emotional victory. Makes me smile ear to ear when I watch the celebration after he won, hell I think a tear may have flared up.
I don't see why people feel bad for being bandwagooners? SjoW is a guy who deserve fans. He is a great guy and has an awesome stream!
He was known, but nobody really cared heavily for him(He had like 15 pages of fanclub). I mean for someone who has top accomplishments in terms of foreign terrans(Money wise high and record wise top 5) he was heavily unknown!
Oh man. Hard to see him lose 0-4 without winning a map, but it WAS a ridiculously hard group. I really hope that he doesn't lose motivation and keeps playing. If he did it vs Life, he can do it again. Next time!
