I remember when he lost to MVP and people were saying he should've just stuck to marines when obviously he knew that wasn't going to work
Except vs MVP it could have worked considering how comfortable he was with the style and how good the maps were. On a map like this, where you split up into chokes and banelings can basically get free hits off... no. Maybe if he had mixed in Marauders or something.
Any other map(like Shakuras vs Kyrix) there's a lot of space for splitting and he would have ripped Losira apart. He just should have used a different strategy.
But he went pure marine ! (no medivacs) vs Kyrix on shakuras he would have lost without medivacs too

Times have changed too, people are just flat out better now. I rewatched the Kyrix vs MKP series and it's still a lot of fun but the level is so much lower than what we'd expect currently.
I don't think you can execute cute strategies like pure bio without doing it like sC did with that relentless aggression, otherwise the zerg finds it too easy to set up and crush you. MKP could actually learn a few things from sC in this regard, since it really feels like sC took many aspects of MKP's old style and brought them more effectively into the current game. Hell, MKP's certainly more than capable of pulling things like that off, it just feels like he might need a bit of a rethink.
I'm still really annoyed by that build against Losira tbh, and I'm a massive Losira fan too xD

I don't think he did badly, he lost to the extra base, which is unlucky (and also because he doesn't scout that much). He actually outplayed puma in the early to mid game. Lategame pumas composition and economy was just was better. The biggest mistake he made was losing a few too many scvs to blue flame hellions but they are incredibly hard to stop, and even after that he was still winning until the extra base kicked in. I'd like to see more people make depo walls at expos to stop hellions seeing how common hellions are these days, but nobody seems to do it .

Actually, Puma WAS Flash practice partner, but it was on BW and a couple years ago if i can remember. Even so, no shame in losing to him, he is a lot better than people give credit for.

I really hope that after THAT many games where MKP is "ninja expoed" they work on it. Puma knew that MKP is vulnerable to that so he did it.

Each time he plays standard (not implying a single build, just no silly stuff like 15 minutes pure marines on 2 bases) he just roflstomp. But sometimes (and each time he was sent in up and downs) he plays just silly builds that makes absolutely no sense (I'm sure I could have won that game with my offrace zerg in losira's seat, no 2 rax, no pressure...) he loses. It's like he loses on purpose to have holidays or for whatever reason like that. I'm a fan(boy even) and usually I stay a fan even when my players lose, but now I'm too angry. When I saw the korean weekly tournament 2 nights ago, I stayed up to see him play in the middle of the night only to see him mass marine against colossus (he went basically the same build he did today vs losira, but it was vs protoss ><) Wtf is wrong with you mkp
Mm, I dunno, Personally, I feel like the build he did against Losira was fanservice and homage to use reputation as the MarineKing and done for the excitement of the audience and (especially) the many fans he had on site to watch him. Because when that build works, it looks absolutely miraculous in terms of awe inspiring individual unit micro. I feel like he didn't take the group 100% seriously and believed that he had a good shot at winning against Losira despite using that impossible build, and even if he didn't he could beat any combination of Alicia/Coca twice to win the series. Remember, Korean progamers regularly state during interviews that it is one of their primary goals to "show good games." What MKP attempted was possibly a means to that end.
Personally, I'm more upset and depressed about his game against Alicia. He was definitely trying his best that game, but it had all the hallmarks of his usual weaknesses - bad scouting (which gave Alicia a huge initial advantage with the void ray / sentry contain and the gold base expansion into +2 armor upgrades), and some poor decisions on when and where to engage against the Protoss army. I feel like there were multiple situations in the game where he could've recovered and taken out either Alicia's gold or his production facilities, but failed to take advantage of the opportunity due to misreads and bad decision making and eventually gave out to Alicia's +2 armor upgraded army.
Despite it all, though, I'm still a huge fan of FoxeR because when he is at his best, he is simply awe inspiring to watch. I love his interaction with fans, I love the personality he displays in the booth, and I hope he can learn from his mistakes and come back stronger than ever.
You really think that after going 0/3 in GSL-related Finals that he's thinking about fan service?

Im worried, cuz for spot in NASL S2, probably he will face Polt
Damn just after he beat him in GSL. I don't know why he has that many problems with BO1 and he is still a ladder beast?
Yeah I'm sad to he couldn't beat alicia in gsl, but that's the volatility of bo1. Mkp always does much better in bo3 or more series. I'm hoping he makes NASL top 4 but it's going to be hard as he may have to go through polt to do it.
EDIT: I just watched the MKP vs Alicia replays from NASL qualifs. He destroyed Alicia this time! (And he scouted for hidden expansions!) This eases the pain
I think Marineking just has has too much going on right now; he had Code S, GSTL and NASL all going on at once. I imagine it really can't be easy to focus on and practice against every single opponent. Seeing how he really wants to get into the foreign scene more, perhaps he is studying more for NASL (Especially since he seems to be dominating it so far).
I still support him 100%, through wins and losses (Even though the losses are sad!)
