I think you are reading a little too much into things. Assisting in suicide is not the same as telling someone that they have control over their own life. And he said it was one of his greatest regrets. Also he was joking when he said the alcoholic thing. But I do agree that this is pretty bad.

Alot of people are way overhyping this. Most people have done this once in their life. Its really not a big deal, just ridiculously entertaining. Eeryone wants a shitstorm when there is no need for one

All of this is incredibly twisted and untrue. He said to his friend that it's his life and he controls it, that isn't fucking "assisting" in suicide. The heroine part was their other friend saying that he used to have an addiction to it, and Destiny saying he's an alcoholic is obviously him kidding because he doesn't drink often at all. Is it embarrassing? Sure, but blowing things out of proportion like this is incredibly irritating and only going to make things worse. Shit like this is how rumors spread.
