I mean I love how he storms and gets 30 kills, but that is not a way to reliably win against world-class players. Let's hope I'm just being paranoid though.

I mean I love how he storms and gets 30 kills, but that is not a way to reliably win against world-class players. Let's hope I'm just being paranoid though. Puma just mindgamed him completely, and was prepared every game except game 1 for MC's play, whereas MC just relied on his pure skill. Think about it. In game 1, MC dominated Puma so Puma switched up his play. Throughout the series, MC didn't switch up his play at all - he had his go-to build and then just saw how things went from there. However, I will say that in Game 2 and 3 he was phenomenally unlucky each time: in game 2 Puma had no idea MC was going on the offensive and blindly dropped with 16 Marines and 2 Medivacs - if MC had been at home, they would have been slaughtered and MC's unit composition was significantly superior to Puma's. In Game 3, Shakuras is a horrible map for PvT because of all the drop potential and how hard it is to get 3 bases. Because Terran can keep Protoss pinned in their base with drops, while building a floatable OC or putting up a Planetary on the third, the difficulty of getting a 3rd up hurted MC far more than it hurt Puma. The fact that the natural is so easy to defend also helped Puma, because MC is the one known for ground-based 2base attacks, whereas any all-in attacks by Puma would be either with medivacs or a 1-1-1, in which high ground is more or less irrelevant. I was just surprised how well MC did in that game - he played it out pretty well, but on a map like that there wasn't a lot he could have done.

I downloaded all three games he won and I rewatched the last two games and I really enjoyed his play there. Trust me, you can watch those replays 2. In the entomed valley game, he started with 3gate pressure to find out what puma was doing and after he saw there was two many units there, he did not attack in, instead he decided to get a 3rd while positioned his army near puma's base to buy time for his macro. He backed off at about the right time and made sure his 3rd was up a lot quicker than terran. It was true Puma managed to kill his army. But at the time puma reached his base front, Mc has 8 gates and 3 bases while Puma only had 2 bases eco and 3 rax. His plan in that game was to outmacro the terran and he won that game with macro + his blink micro. Once his 3 bases eco kick in, he gets aggressive again and pressure Puma's 3rd. Puma never really mine from his 3rd. It was a 3 bases Mc kills a two bases Puma. I think even Puma himself misunderstands this game. Puma probably thought he was ahead. I mean even at the time I was watching live I thought Puma was ahead and Mc was about to lose this final. But plz, just plz watch the replay again, Mc was never really behind. And the decision to go blink instead of charge was boss decision. If he goes 8 gate zeals, Puma may hold it with good position. But with 8 gate blink controlled by Mc, there was no chance for Puma. I love this game. The Antiga one, I think a lot of ppl misread the situation too. It was true he lost pros early game, but with 2 nexus he can build workers real quick and Puma was never ahead in terms of eco. Puma's first push was not that big either. His army was like a lot of medics + not that many bio units. Mc at the time had many blink stalkers in base with a few sentries in front. There was not much Puma can do as long as Mc did not miscontrol his army. About the storms. Before the fight began, Mc had 2 forge upgrading while Puma only had one engineering bay. Puma had ghosts about the time Mc had hts. Which means Mc will always have upgrade adavange in the next minutes. If Puma did not attack and did damage, he will be always behind in that next a few minutes. You can argue that Puma should wait for his cloaked ghosts, but how can Puma make sure Mc will not have obs at that time. He did not see what we saw. You can argue that Puma should not fight in that position and eat storms. But how can he know the storm timing like the viewers. And in fact, if Mc did not have storms, that was the perfect place for Puma to fight. After that, he keeps denying Puma mining from his 3rd, because as long as Puma can not mine from the 3rd, it will be an auto win for a 4 bases toss anyways. Why do you need to trade efficiently?

People saying MC was playing rather weak today, I have to agree to a certain extent but you have to consider that he is playing against puma whom he lost already twice in a final to and someone who eats other protosses for breakfast+MMA advices in between games. Puma has cost MC already a lot of money ( 25k pricejump from NASL S1) and the Moneyjump from IEM cologne. I guess this final was one of MC's most important matches in his life because he won a major title, 35k(!) and, most importantly, defeated a longterm rival ( they are still good friends afaik)

Today was a wondrous day for MC fans - and it's starting to look like that Sad Zealot is on weed. He seems to be pretty happy and contented, sitting in the corner, drawing rainbows in the floor with psi-blades while the BossToss, the Mothership, brings home
