For you to goto EG, here is what you should get.
1. Apartment of your choice in Korea, up to $2k per month 2. Yearly salary of 100k ($8250 per month) 3. 35k signing bonus - this is important too because they need to show a commitment. You are committing to leaving your teamhouse... an signing bonus is appropriate.
You're totally worth it. The cost to EG for that is 150k for a year. In that year, they will get 5x that in attention and sponsor value. If a company like EG sign another Intel level sponsor, your salary is a fraction of that. You give EG a good chance with MANY sponsors..... more so than anyone they have.
Its a business and you need to create a career for yourself. You are putting your reputation on the line, you should be fairly compensated. Leaving a "white hat" company for a "black hat" one is not without ramifications....
This will be a lateral to downward move for you from a training standpoint, so make sure its worth it financially.
Best of luck... your doing amazing for someone in their early 20's already, but the reality is that you are the biggest star in the foreign scene, and that command a hefty premium.
So don't go cheap!
(still sad if its true you leaving the oGs house.... but business is business and everyone needs financial security)
8250 dollars A MONTH? Youre retarded. Too high? too low? bad math? Too high, I assume.

Too low.. Any sum of money =/= practice in one of the top korean houses.

anyone know from what series of games is the falsh video of the post where huk is celebrating like it's his birthday?pm me if u know plz
|
don't you leave Liquid! I remember the movie Rocky when his student was offered a contract by that other guy and he took it and it was a huge mistake, IDK why this reminds me of that.
The cash will come, you should worry about being the best and that alone will grant you what you need!

100k sounds about right, that's what the rumours on reddit were saying anyway. Also, HuK flew business class this week

HuK we want you in teamliquid but of your going to eg thats fine with me i still love you <3
|
lol...ppl blowing a "announcement from EG" out of proportion
GO HuK...GSL WIN WIN!
|
T.T Please let it not be true... Please.
|
If HuK were to join EG for more money I wouldn't hold that against him. These guys are trying to make a living. It's one thing for sports stars who are already rolling in cash to be doing things like this, and even then it's really not a big deal, but progamers don't have their future taken care of like that. You can't fault someone wearing a different banner on their t-shirt when it means their financial security and well being.
I doubt this announcement only involves HuK if it involves liquid at all. Too many people claiming to be in the know for a deal involving a single player.

Boxer is the only Starcraft 2 player that is even remotely valuable that way. Where do you even get your numbers from

I could argue it statistically, on a cost per impression basis. If you look at streaming and ad impression for sponsors, its clear Huk is worth more than $50 per hour (which works out to 100k for yearly salary). Certainly, in any medium, youtube or justin.tv Huk could earn more that $50 per hour. Destiny was making 6500 per month 5 months ago when he showed his revenues.
Huk can generate 200k impression per day... at $2 per 1000 impressions... thats $400 per day = $146,000 per year. And 2 is pretty meager.... in fact very meager.
But on top of that Huk is a unique talent.
He's young (something Boxer is not), and only going to get better. If there were an SC2 draft..... he would be the number 1 foreigner picked...... he's a sponsors darling. Young, hard working, well spoken and universally liked.
Its the opportunity that having Huk on your team for the next spurt of SC2 growth brings. The best..... foreign.... player! A code S player.....
Huk is the only one.
So, he commands a premium.... and rightfully so.
You have to factor in the growth of SC2. Huk, alone, can keep EG on top for another year and sponsorship market is only going to get bigger! Huk ensures EG the best shot at getting the biggest sponsors.
There is alot of money in SC2... and its only getting bigger.
