It's just standard procedure to notify fans/people of important news regarding a team. Otherwise it leads to speculation that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Sure they don't, but why wouldn't they just put out a tweet saying what happened? At the very least to put all the "idra is retiring" rumors to rest.

I'm not saying they owe us something; I'm saying that the way they are dealing with their public relations makes an increasing part of the community turn against them. And in this particular case - do you really think they want you guys to focus on Idra just right now instead on their big announcement? For once, Idra is not in the center of it - even if he is involved somehow. But they have managed to distract a lot of you from their own big story.
Of course, if it is about Idra I am totally mistaken but it's not like this is the only example of poor PR done by them.
