I've even seen Cruncher beat Idra in one tourney game using only blink stalkers vs hydra ling (Luckily he won the subsequent game). And you'd think hydra ling is the counter to stalkers. Hydras just seem have such a limited timing window to get anything big done.

Idra played a great last game, but MC was just using protoss to its maximum... protossyness.

Good MLG showing, Mr. Fields, very entertaining as well.

Those DTs killed IdrA. Did he even sack an overlord to scout the Dark Shrine? He recklessly cheesed the first few games, also losing to MC's cannon rush. He should have been more confident with his macro. That's what he is, a great macro-oriented Zerg player who doesn't do stupid cheese. I'm counting on IdrA to destroy MC in a future tournament. And I mean absolutely destroy him.

IdrA learned the hard way to not give up early and I'm sure his team will talk with him afterwards. He did better than any other non Korean. He will bounce back and will certainly become the best when his attitude in games gets better.

Roaches do pretty well against upgraded Stalkers that just about 3 shot them.

There was 1 DT attacking Idra's Hydras btw.

That 1 DT wa not only "attacking" idras hydras, it literally oneshot them...

In case you were watching on low quality or from very far away, there were 2 dts in the stalker/hydra fight as well. I know that you probably think it doesn't matter, but if you combine all the factors:
- more stalkers
- off creep
- dts and no obs

Then it does make sense that idra lost that.
Besides, Hydras are best used with some roaches to tank damage, I have no idea how they work in purely hydra vs stalk scenarios, but apparently, what Idra did didn't work so well. Must've been the extra supply wasted on drones/corruptors, because even tho I don't play either z or p, I know that hydras are a good counter to most gateway units.

He was able to take him when he had stalkers + collosi, he SHOULD have been able to do it when there were just stalkers. I blame going in for the kill at the wrong time. He could've waited for some BLs.

Even with +3 i dont see why his hydras lost...is it because he had less of them? It seemed pretty equal, or was it the DTs that raped the hydras...if he had won the battle he MIGHT have won, even with the drone slaughter,but...I can't believe mass blink stalkers with a few Dts beats hydra,ling,infestor...IdrA should have won...5 base v 3 base(then again its protoss and protoss is SOOOOOOO cost effective

I'm not much of an Idra fan but I must say I feel for him. He played very well except for a few games which came down to just a few minor mistakes. I love to see him play and I hope he can get over this and move on and become an even better player before the next MLG.
