I take offense to that, not that I want to start an argument here (or anything like it). Just stating that comments like that are pretty disrespectful.

I don't understand how you could take offense to that. Joseph Smith was actually convicted of fraud.

The man was a fraud. It's a factual statement. How is that offensive?

we're talking about religion
of course factual statements are offensive

Honestly, I am slightly creeped out by how similar IdrA is to me looks wise (when I was younger) and to a degree personality wise when it comes to losing. That aside, he's a great Zerg player and his macro style is something that I envy and wish I could pull off.
Abstracts, the too long didn't read of the educated world.

Do you guys think IdrA will have a huge problem in a few months when just laddering won't be enough to win tournaments? Do you think signing up for EG and thus having no real practice partners in Korea will hinder him a lot?

He practice a bit with the liquid guys + a few other top lvl korean players.

Most of the best players in korea plays some ladder each day anyway so ladder is not that bad for practice unless you need to test a specific build vs build.

EDIT: Also Idra was in the last Official State of the Game Podcast where he talks abit about it if i remember right:

I don't know what you call 'real' practicing partners, but he is practicing with guys from NEX clan(if i remember right) and afaik with TLO etc. Shouldn't have any problems. Of course it would be more effective with guys from oGs etc.

He's gonna play enough games to keep his mechanics sharp. Not to speak for IdrA but he's always seemed on his own as far as having practice partners he can actually discuss the game with (outside Artosis and Tasteless). When a game lost fuels 20 more to be played, you'll be fine. He's an intelligent guy who'll figure out how to make it work.

Plus HuK and TLO are IdrA fans right? There's T and P practice right there.

In my opinion it is a serious problem. It's not just about practicing but also the team mentality. The Liquid or NEX guys won't be sharing everything with Idra and, even if they are friends, when it comes to tournaments Idra will be the enemy.

Another very important thing is to just sit down and have a chat about the game every now and then. Sure, Idra obviously discusses it a lot with Artosis and probably TheLittleOne and Jinro as well but it's a different story when you have 5-10 top players around.

P.S. Updated OP with the Boxer game.+ Show Spoiler +

From what we have seen a GSL, most koreans do not really seem like much of a problem for them. Rainbow, tester, cool are the only ones that stand out and seem to do amazingly well almost every game.

Both idra and TLO were booted out with cheese, something any player can do to any other player with a little luck and a lot of micro, so as long as they keep sharp on mechanics and maybe scout more I can't really see a problem =/

Hm it could be that the ladder will quickly lose its relevance for professional practice as everything seems to turn towards team intern training. Also Idra mentioned in Sotg that he is forced to train with the "lesser" progamers (if you can ascribe such a term to someone like Genius is another question). So in the long run it could develope into a drawback. I`m actually wondering what happens if Idra should face an Ogs player like Top/Ensnare. Are TLO/Jinro permitted to help Idra in that case?

The question is whether they will want to - and I think that the answer is negative. They are probably better friends with Idra because of the language barrier between them and the Korean players but when it comes to official matches your team is more important than your friends.

So I was watching new ABC show "The Middle".

Am I the only one who thinks the kid character "Brick" looks like a miniature Idra?

And watching him express himself makes it even more uncanny.

What it must have felt like to beat BoxeR... I'm sure IdrA didn't show any emotion after his win, got up and went for a drink of nerd tears.
Ideas are bullet-proof.
