my friend ended up hanging out with day9/soe after the finals, he has a ton of pics on his FB (I'm just commenting on it because I wish to live vicariously through him). Before that though he added that he tried to confuse/troll idra (I guess while he got something signed by him? not sure) with:
"Me: Hey Idra, didn't you get engaged? Idra: Uhh no Me: Well this is awkward, I gotta go"
worth a chuckle imo

IdrA did some great casting at NASL, hope to seem him do well at Asus!

Thought Idra did a good job casting at NASL/WCS. Wish he was playing in it though!

From the point of view of someone who doesn't play the game and isn't interested at all in deep strategical analysis (like the vast majority of the viewers), his commentary is bad, it is dull and unexciting.

idra was a really good caster. yes he is a analytical caster but that is why incontrol is there with him. incontrol provides the jokes/asks the questions and idra answeres in a analytical way. Both of them were great at casting during NASL and i think the best pair to watch. Alone however i can see what you mean with idra being kind of dull but idra wasn't alone.

Artosis + IdrA casting = <3

"vast majority of the viewers" really ? Because I get so pissed when I hear some casters (even famous ones) talk about strategy and just say a bunch of bullsh*t that isn't relevant or true. It's really refreshing to have some GOOD analytical casters (Artosis, Day9, Appolo..).
You can't just say that the vast majority of people like this or that without backing it up with a shred of evidence.

The vast majority of viewers are not casuals. The vast majority of viewers want deep analysis.

I like IdrA's casting, but it's a bit monotone.

I like Idra's casting, but sometimes I get so aroused by his virtual presence that I have a hard time concentrating on the game

What i like about idra casting is that, unlike his interviews as a player, he is neutral and don't really judge the players, stays cool and just says smart stuff about the game.
