Personal attacks in this thread will draw a temp ban. |
At least now we know for sure that Idra is not getting banned for particular posts (this was another relatively harmless jab at Manifesto) but for his.. erm... overall accomplishments
What accomplishments? I am not trying to be snide or rude here, generally asking.
He was banned for sarcastically insulting a mod, the same mod who probably has to wade through 100's of posts in LTR threads when Idra loses so that he has to clean up all **** and racist remarks from certain sections of his fanbase, gems like this:
drky United States. February 05 2011 16:50. Posts 8 PM Profile Quote # who was that korean prick calling idra "agly"? I mean look at them with their small eyes and weird noses. No way Idra is ugly compared to any of them azn kids.
The absolute least he can do is NOT insult a mod? Is that too hard to ask?

This ban does not affect Idra regarding TSL3.

EDIT: So much drama lately. me no like it.

Anyway, it would be nice to see an official statement on Idra and TSL before the shitstorm begins. Well mods do talk bad about Idra and as soon as he says one line back the ban hammer comes fast. o.o! TSL dont start in the next 30 days so dont think its going to be a problem Well, Nyovne seems to be convinced that Idra won't be allow to participate in TSL (source: IRC). Who they gonna replace him with? I mean there a only 3 real good Zergs: Nestea, IdrA and FD (who isn't doing well lately). I mean it's hard to consider FD good at this point in time and if they removed IdrA we wouldn't see anything great coming out of the korean Zerg invites besides Nestea.
edit: missed out Nazgul's post.

I believe we should join our hands and send Mr. Fields positive energy to kill the mad ghosts disturbing his pure mind.

I'm sure that, although TL would like TSL to be as attractive for the audience as possible, they would not hesitate to ban anyone from the tournament if they consider the player's behaviour not good enough. And anyway, the Zerg invitees have not been announced yet, we might not see Idra anyway.

Errr gotta step in here and correct this as it seems this is being taken out of context or misinterpreted. I compared it with the dimaga case and instances of (ladder) abuse in previous TSL's which result(ed) in being excluded from (a certain amount of) future TSL's. After which I went on and said that if you are banned from the Teamliquid site you are incapable of registering for TLOpen or other registry required events with the exception of being able to arrange it with administrators outside of the normal required medium as your account is disabled.
Especially since it's is neither my place nor function to create policy on these matters. Retroactive applying of rules also is one of the worst things you can do as it undermines any kind of 'legal'/ 'applicable rule' certainty which is required for any proper governing of a community. People need to know what is being expected of them.

Well as Nyovne said more room for players like Haypro, Ret and Moodglade as they are "nice" people, dont think he cares much about skill. ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
Seems you're thinking incorrect thoughts and also predictably limited to a simply user point of view on this issue. Especially regarding criteria for certain moderation and event selection actions, let alone my personal views or opinions.
Additionally I never said anything about it (being the rule I hypothetically stated) creating more room anywhere for anyone. The fact that I actually named player names and criteria on which they would be more desireable is simply preposterous. I strongly urge you to stop putting words or statements in my mouth which I purposefully do not express myself about.
I never even ventured close to anything you are stating comming from my "mouth" on IRC today or on any other day. An appropriate response from you here would be nice as this is annoying and kind of insulting to me as a person. Not even mentioning towards my position as a moderator on this site.

Not that it particularly matters, but you definitely said, quote, "Idra cannot participate in TSL3" and "according to the rules he should be I guess [banned from TSL3]"
You also implied you would be fine if he was, indeed, banned from TSL due to his forum conduct

idra's latest ban for February 07 2011 in the Thread "Who is your favorite TL mod/banling" "Manifesto7 for his intelligence and integrity" BANNED so are they banning idra for posting now or what?lol

Doubt fanboys would see an insult if Idra said Manifesto was a retard and should have his balls cut off.

At least IdrA's insult was more tasteful than the one you are using now. His was very indirect and it was more like a pun than anything. But you are in here in the fanclub and insulting the people here by attacking their intelligence directly. Why do people post in the IdrA fanclub just to insult people here... I never get that.
If the mods are to follow through and ban people for IdrA's latest comment, you should certainly be banned.

For all of us who didn't play much BW and basically only know Idra as the BM USA Zerg we love to support, is there an (appropriate to tell) backstory to the Manifesto7 deal? The majority of players who don't understand the insult are probably from this crowd...

You also implied you would be fine if he was, indeed, banned from TSL due to his forum conduct Way to quote a single line out of several which compose a whole. But I guess it's bound to happen in the heavy chat traffic at that time. As for the second part you didn't even go with the whole sentence there. But again, in the heavy traffic at the time (with some heated discussions at certain points) I'm not surprised it resulted in this cut and paste.

I read the whole backlog and it wasn't out of context, though you did later elaborate you didn't know if the rule applies. Of course arguing about irc logs is asinine and things said on irc shouldn't be taken very seriously.

Does this mean there will be no more Idra-Streaming on teamliquid for the next 30days?

Yeah it won't show up, but just check his twitter. He posts there when he is going to stream.

I hope no one is accusing Nyovne of anything. What I understood from IRC was that he thinks Idra will not be allowed to participate in TSL but he did not present it as an official TL statement - it was just his reading of the rules. Anyway, a lot of people got confused but Nazgul was quick to clarify the situation, so everything is fine now?
