MvP used to have the best TvZ in the world, so I doubt it would be close.

i dunno IdrA has been on a tear TvZ lately, despite getting cheesed out by polt he still beat Supernova, Thorzain and Jinro

Idra has always had fantastic TvZ no doubt. But MVP is(was..) just on another level from most terrans.

Jinro and his sub 30% winrate against Code B zergs. Thorzain and his weakest matchup by far. Supernova and his inexplicable collapses in foreign tournaments. I'm glad that Idra has a victory to silence the haters, but his homers really need to stop overhyping every little thing that goes right for him.

Some people will do/say anything to make a win seem insignificant.

Not insignificant, not anything to exaggerate. He played against an opponent who was performing at a subpar level. Of course people will obviously hype up the victory itself and completely ignore how Idra is finally adapting a new style in ZvT, one that will be far more successful for his mindset in the matchup. That is what Idra fans should truly be excited about.

So being glad that he beat MVP is an exaggeration?

Is saying he is on a tear against Terrans when he beat all of four terrans (two with bad TvZ, one who consistently underperforms in foreign tournaments, and one whose play has greatly deteriorated due to wrist problems) an exaggeration? Is saying that Idra is better than Polt with zero evidence an exaggeration? Is whining about Polt "cheesing" Idra when Idra flopped and died to a standard TvZ opener an exaggeration?

Didn't MVP beat Symbol (an amazing zerg) in this same tournament. I don't care how "beat up" MVP is at the moment you have to be an amazing player to beat him regardless of his condition.

Congrats. I do think he has fantastic ZvT, mediocre ZvZ, and abysmal ZvP like any level-headed person. I also feel in reference to a multi-GSL winner he is not on his level. I'm sorry if you disagree with that sentiment.

Yes it's an exaggeration. It's still positive though, maybe he is coming out of his slump. Maybe he is gaining in confidence. Maybe his new style is working well.
Is saying that Idra is better than Polt with zero evidence an exaggeration?

Yes. All signs point to the opposite. IdrA, please prove everybody wrong
Is whining about Polt "cheesing" Idra when Idra flopped and died to a standard TvZ opener an exaggeration?

A loss is a loss. I'm fine with people being unhappy with the style of Polt. The definition of cheese varies so much, I don't think there is value in arguing one way or another.

um who said that IdrA was better then polt? they played one Bo3 you cant decide whos better from one Bo3

IdrA hasn't proved he is better than Polt. There is a good case to say the opposite. That BO3 and a lot of ladder games.

and yes, IdrA absolutely destroying 4 good terrans is extremely good news, despite how well they normally do in TvZ there still very good terrans who dont go down easily and they all got demolished by IdrA

It's good news, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I can decide based on months and months of results, which decisively favor Polt.

This is exactly what I am talking about. Let's cherrypick as many positive results as possible and blind ourselves to everything that does not exist in our fantasy world. Let's ignore the fact that Supernova was the only player Idra beat in a series at IEM World Championships, that Idra beat Jinro when Jinro has not won a TvZ series in Korea in over a year, that he beat Thorzain just after he got embarrassed by Cloud.

Didn't Symbol just make it to Code A? Does beating one person in a BoX mean you're back in form? I'd like to see consistency from Idra before I start making inferences about his current skill level.

Am i the only one who thinks it is really weird that people expect IdrA fans not to exaggerate victories or excuse defeats in his fanclub? One would think it would be the reverse.

Dunno, I'm a pretty rabid MC fanboy but if he plays like shit his fanclub tends to just say he's playing like shit and we try not to overexaggerate victories. I'm a member of this fanclub too from way back, I just try to be realistic about where a player stands and what a victory actually means for him. IdrA did make very few mistakes and played a good style compared to his way outdated mutacentric play though, but a victory over the name MVP feels very lackluster to me here.

See, exactly what I am talking about. There is no other fanclub on TL where cautious optimism/spontaneous celebration is in such short supply. Why can't people just be happy about Idra winning this series and make no big leaps in logic?

Well, I'd say there are LOTS of spontaneous celebration. Just, Idra has a way bigger and louder fanbase than pretty much everyone, and that attracts more people, and if there are lots more people, there are bound to be someone who does that

Haha I'm used to a shitstorm whenever IdrA loses. It's refreshing to see a shitstorm when he wins instead.
