edit: [Update] - Polaris has now released an official statement to forward to the media to reveal more details surrounding the tragic accident. The agency also revealed that RiSe is in critical condition at the moment while Sojung seems to be more stable. "Near Suwon around 1:30 AM, the car that Ladies' Code had been riding in after finishing up their schedule in Daegu experienced a problem where the back wheel came off. With the back wheel coming off on the rainy road, the car ended up spinning several times before hitting the guard rail. Due to this, EunB tragically passed away. Currently, RiSe is in critical condition and Sojung is receiving treatment for her injuries. The other members and the manager and stylist have no big injuries... The members will be transferred from Suwon to a hospital in Seoul, and the location for the wake [for EunB] has not yet been decided on. Our company employees are also currently in great shock and are experiencing sadness that cannot be expressed in words. We offer our apology to the fans and all those who have also been greatly shocked, and we hope that many can pray for the speedy recovery of the members."

While Sojung appears to be in more stable condition now, it is being reported that Rise is still undergoing surgery after receiving trauma to her head. She is currently in the middle of a major procedure that has been ongoing for over seven hours since around 2 AM (KST) on September 3. Took this from the recent soompi article. I am truly hoping that RiSe will fight through this. But a head trauma injury that has resulted in an ongoing surgery for 7 hours.. I don't know what to think anymore, this is so sad.

Companies should make their charges wear seat-belts in company vans at least.

It would be pretty tasteless here but I won't believe anything until an official report comes out. It's probably the same situation we have seen before--they are driving too fast in bad conditions with too little sleep because their schedule is too tight. Companies should make their charges wear seat-belts in company vans at least. They have to create bogus stories, because all the agencies/companies knows deep down that what they are putting these idols through is not humane. Insane schedules, both for idols and these poor drivers, ends up unfortunately in accidents. They have been lucky earlier, but this time it ended in a horrible tragedy. I sincerely hope that they will now sit and and take a good look at their scheduling. Not just Polaris, but all the companies should learn from this tragedy. How many accidents, deaths or not, do we need to see before they will realize that something is horribly wrong in the way they are doing things?

According to what some of the sites are writing, she has gone through brain surgery. I am no medical expert, but if they have done 9 hours of brain surgery, I am both amazed that they have succeeded and afraid of the damage it have done. Let's just hope that the part of her brain that was damaged is none of the "vital" parts, if that makes sense. Hope that she will recover and that her physical health will go back to normal. I cant even begin to image the mental pain the girls, families and friends are going through ;(

I've been to Asia and Europe, and people look at me odd when I look for a seatbelt when I'm in the backseat. I feel bad about the whole situation, but the stigma for not wearing a seatbelt in the backseat needs to change. It's not only for the safety of the wearer, but for the people in front as well. You essentially become a dangerous 50-70 kg projectile to the rest of the people in the compartment when not buckled, and I hate seeing how fine it is to some people when I see this visiting other countries.
