I watched my first anime/manga and knew lots about Japan long, long before I ever laid eyes on jessica. When I think about it I cant understand why kpop and Korean culture sucked me into oblivion while jpop and Japanese culture remained a far away novelty Pretty much. Although I have begun reading manga/watching anime a year before I started watching BW, thanks to Craton I got sucked into the highly addicting kpop/bw mix very fast. So I never got to listen to any other x-pop beside kpop. And once you're hooked onto one variety, that's it for life :D I will however defend anime OSTs (at least most of them), because they are often very good. With the exception of opening/ending themes, I usually hate them to the point of avoiding them like the plague ^_^. As per the EpikHigh debacle, I like two songs which is slightly less than their other releases. I wouldn't say it's the end of the world nor ignore them forever. If their next album is again 'mediocre' (mediocre for them, great for any other band), then I can speculate. Also, while I'm at it, massive thank you to LosingID8 for posting your top #30, I love discovering more music and that Clazziquai album is just spectacular. Haven't been this happy for a long time <3

Don't Hate Me was alright, I liked it, but was it the caliber of stuff that I was expecting from Epik High? Nope.

Congratulations on your self-fulfilling prophecy. You hate it because you expected to before it ever came out and the second you heard one song you didn't like you immediately used it to affirm your pre-conceived belief. The album, like every other album on the planet had its good songs, its bad songs, and its mediocre songs. It had songs that were like many of the past songs and songs that weren't. Tough shit that you don't like it because it isn't identical to their first album from 9 years ago. Neither were any of their other albums. Learn to see past your own internal biases and you'll find there are good songs on the album. craton's talking that real shit right now. album was released under yg ent. kmd = yg haters (minus big bang shit). the hate and disappointment here was expected long before the album was even released.

German language is better than Dutch at least, the 2 languages I speak on daily basis are pretty ugly ^^ But to be really honest, I watched Ongbak recently and watched Saigon Jokers interview, fuck Thai and Vietnamese language are pretty damned ugly to listen to... Japanese is nice to listen to because of their ways of speaking it, Korean has some throat sounds but it's still nice to listen to.

The name of the album is 99 because it's made for 99% of the listeners and not the 1% who actually want good music. I would like to know the source of this too. I never heard Tablo say anything like this and he seemed happier saying he was able to have the freedom he wanted and had fun making the album. After hearing the songs a lot more now I can say some reactions are overblown even tho the quality is not where I wanted it to be but it's still acceptable and enjoyable.

Not at all. When they released "It's Cold" I thought the album was gonna be good, then they released don't hate me along with the rest of the album and I disliked it.

They allegedly said that it was 99 because thy were looking to appeal to the 99% of the fans, the 1% is not specified as anything. To be honest I wouldn't take anything that has come from this as a genuine representation of his mood, not long ago he was somewhat making fun of G-dragon's crayon lyrics but his music now is closer to it than it is to the old Epik high. 'According to YG Entertainment’s official Facebook, the Epik High members named the album ’99′ for a That's the excerpt that is being quoted

When I think about it I cant understand why kpop and Korean culture sucked me into oblivion while jpop and Japanese culture remained a far away novelty Kpop has generally been more catchy than Jpop for me, plus a lot of Jpop idols are fucking weird (link to pon pon here). Korean culture doesn't feel nearly as wtf insane as Japanese does most of the time, though that's also enjoyable from time to time. I really get into some parts of Japanese culture, being a (mainly RPG) gamer and an anime and manga fan, of course, aside from Kpop and eSports there's really not much about Korea that draws me.

I dunno about it meaning it's meant to exclude their old fans.
