They don't even include a lot of the words. ![]() They are subs for the Japanese audio track Yeah, that's what I figured. G Gundam is pretty cool though, gonna have to download that sometime. I think I actually liked the dub for that. Made it more entertaining somehow. it's basically Gundam DBZ style

As most(if not all?) of you I'm looking for as much bang for my buck as I can get: Good quality (720p mostly, 1080p not ideally) readable fonts and fluent, understandable translations with a small size. I bookmarked this site when someone posted it before for comparing subgroups: http://www.ji-hi.net/ but the problem is, the site seems rather recent. They can't compare Full Metal Panic!, Code Geass, Ghost in the Shell, etc. etc. Is there a site where I can compare or get a general idea which subgroup is good? Mostly for the older/better anime rather than your run-of-the-mill average ones of the past few seasons with a few exceptions. So far I've been using torrents that seem to have the most uses and users, but is the most popular torrent always of the best/most efficient subgroup?

It's better than nothing though.KAA is indeed very good. And they're primarily a DVD rip group as well, IIRC. SS I wouldn't really call recent. They're generally good, but they're also really slow. Eclipse used to be the fastest. They started slowing down around when Kaichou wa Maid Sama was airing - I clearly remember FFFpeeps being faster on almost every occasion.

Don't they just rip the subs from Crunchyroll? Anyway, they get things out hella fast, but in low quality. If you absolutely cannot wait any longer and don't care about quality, they're your first choice.

After that, I usually take whatever is offered in 720p, regardless of the subgroup. If there's an obvious mistake, I'll probably just notice it anyway.

For instance, there are programs that let you scan books and convert the scanned material into text. That's OCR. Edit: @Ferrose: The problem with Angel Beats is twofold: First, the flip-flopping between comedy and drama happens far too quickly. It makes it difficult to care even when people "die". And to add to that, death is cheap when everyone just revives after a while. Second, the story development is utter crap. This series would have benefited greatly from an additional 12 episodes.

Oh OCR seems pretty epic. Angel Beats would have been better if they just sticked to one thing. 12 episodes isn't long enough for it to be switching around. Like Zombie, trying to do drama, granted it was done terrible, but it would have been better if they just stuck with the comedy throughout. However though I found Angel Beats to be enjoyable (atleast the drama part)

After you finish all 13 episodes, this feeling turns into irritation and you begin to blame the producers for fucking it up. Most of the people here blame it's length. 13 episodes is really not enough to explain everything, tie up loose ends and develop all the characters. The characters are good, I find the setting enjoyable but the plot and it's execution seems lacking =( The final ~4 episodes I think showcase just that. I won't spoil you, but the final episodes seem really stupidly rushed plotwise.

Incidentally, Angel Beats and Canaan are the two reasons why I worry that Hanasaku Iroha might not be good. =/
