So yeah, capturing arcs will dominate the season. Though I suppose Haqua's arc isn't exactly standard, but still. + Show Spoiler [TWGOK] + I remember reading up to around chapter 68 ish and then i quit. I don't understand why they need to capture soo many girls before the plot kicks in
+ Show Spoiler +No one understands why. No one also understands why it took like 108 chapters for Shiori to appear again
Edit: Meant to hit edit. Sorry -_-

The story of Baccano is way better than Durarara, but Durarara just has a lot of awesome characters.

Baccano I personally think is better for a lot of reasons. The plot is presented in a unique non-linear fashion. The timeline and setting is interesting. The plot revolves around mafia, the elixir of life, and a band of friends. The characters are all unique and clash/meld with each other very well. There's suspense, comedy and action everywhere. The initial confusion the watcher has, is a good drive to make him watch further, and the pace at which the story becomes clearer is also very good. Not too much is revealed in every episode, but over the course of 15(16? 13?) episodes, the whole plot becomes clear and is very satisfying. The watcher is fed well-measured and well thoughout spoons of the story with each episode. Each one of those factors put together makes Baccano a great story.
In DRRR some characters have less depth than others and aren't as important to the story. DRRR has a linear story, although it's presented from different angles at times. DRRR is based on present day, with deliquent kiddos without kickass hats and suits to go along with it. Baccano is made to be badass while DRRR has a lot of focus on adolescents nowadays and their internet gangs/deliquent groups, with only a side dish of the world of adults. Although the Izaya and Celty parts are great, I regret the focus wasn't even more shifted in their favor.

But this was obviously a different studio, so it was just someone else's adaptation. So it's understandable to have different seiyuus and stuff. That didn't make it worse or anything.
As for the story, it wasn't that bad. It was some nice background on Reinhard and Kircheis. Though Idk if it can be considered canon.
Everything about Iserlohn and the ships was totally wrong though. Though the Imperial ships actually had more practical bridges lol. The one thing that was perfect was the Alliance uniforms. Fucking badass as hell uniforms for the Empire too (yes, I'm joking).
The caracter design on the villain guy was lol. He looked like he belongs in a vampire movie or something. And lol Lennenkampt got an appearance.
Those fansubs sucked, btw. Their grammar was terrible. And every time Annerose referred to Kircheis as "Sieg," the subs said "Kircheis." WTF. Also, there are no majors or colonels in the navy. >.>
Overall, the movie wasn't terrible, but it wasn't impressive either. It was kinda cheesy. At least there weren't any bullshit retcons. 6/10
Please excuse the fact that I do not have picture aids like I normally do. I am typing this on a cell phone. + Show Spoiler +No bullshit retcons? What about Iserlohn almost being destroyed, when in the OVA it wasn't even damaged until Geirsberg entered the Iserlohn Corridor.
The different art style, the voices, the designs, everything was different. It isn't even an LoGH in my mind.

+ Show Spoiler +Well yeah, it shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as the rest of the series. But as a standalone, it wasn't that bad.
And as I said, everything about Iserlohn was wrong. The fact that it was made from some plate metal and not liquified metal, the main control room or whatever, the Thor Hammer, etc.. That was pretty bad, admittedly.
Also, Reinhard loved to play with Kircheis's hair in this one. It was kinda creepy.

School Days is getting a english translation. Now I can experience being an asshat just like in the anime. I'm seriously excited for this.

Are you on a cell phone or something?
And yeah, I definitely need to play mahjong. I never knew it had lightning and beams of light from the sky. I can't believe I never played it before

Lol, it doesn't. But there are mahjong platforms which feature anime stuff. It's "only in Japan" though, I think :/ What I always wondered about: Why are one-armed bandits so popular in Japan? They have a lot of different themes as well(Higurashi, other anime, games, pretty much everything).

I need to look up how to play. I know absolutely nothing. I kept having to pause during Saki so I could read the explanations for all the jargon. -_-

I'm horrible. Probably because I only know half of the rules and everything else from Saki. :|
Still, it is fun. :D
