Why can't the reason he's working toward becoming a mangaka be because he wants to be a mangaka? It'd make more sense than this "I don't even know you but I'll marry you if you're successful" bullshit. At least the thing with Miyoshi is more believable.
He never gave serious thought about becoming a manga artist until Shujin came along and begged him to make a manga with him. Then from there it snowballed. He found out Azuki is aiming to be a voice actress and since he had agreed to make a manga and potentially an anime if they became serialized it was like... oh, I now have this dream of becoming a serious manga artist and you have a serious dream about becoming a voice actress, but we can't talk to/see each other until our dreams are met because we'll just get in each others way even though WE'RE ONLY IN 9TH GRADE. I agree. There is just something about the black hair blue-eyed T-M characters that makes me overlook the flat chest, and makes me really like them.
