Edit 2: Thanks for spoiler-tagging it.  It is also not really an all-ages anime, especially if you look at the creators. Edit: To answer your question: Puella Magi Madoka Magica / Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. (Probably by far the best anime that airs this season.) | ||

I definitely agree it seems like Homura made a wish to time travel which would explain her ability to move absurdly fast. Guessing she can slow down time. A lot of people have been speculating on Madoka/Homura relationship but I'd really like to know Kyubey's role in all of this. Sure, he's an evil little creature but what's his real goal? It's obviously not making contracts for the sake of killing witches. I feel like he has a hand in causing witches to appear and the magical girl/witch battle is all masterminded by him. I'm probably wrong but I was really suspicious when Hitomi just happened to get a witch's kiss right after Kyubey was like "okay I understand you don't want to contract me. Goodbye 'forever.'" | ||

There is quite a bit of violent anime. Mami's death (the character in your gif) is made worse because she was just so happy one scene earlier, because she finally found some friends. Then it's all over for her in the blink of your eye. | ||

Yeah, the creators did a really good job at deceiving us into thinking it was a typical girly magic girl show. It's freaking awesome though. Edit: You should see some of the art, orgolove. Some of the enemies look like they were drawn with crayons. On purpose of course. But still lol. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + I was positive she was going to make her contract this episode. Her character is just a sad sack right now. I wouldn't be surprised if Sayaka got all messed up beyond repair and Madoka was all, "MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER", You know, something dumb like that:D | ||

It is most definitely not an all-age anime. I absolutely hate the character designs of this show, but this show reminds me of why SHAFT has cemented itself as one of the best studios out there. Great writing, great animation, and quite a unique narrative style. If anyone hasn't seen Bakemonogatari yet... | ||

It doesn't have any real story arc, it's just a random mix of episodes with the same good old characters. Despite that it's funny and entertaining. Even better than Season 1, IMO. I'm about to start the second raid. | ||
