It's just that writing it Tooko doesn't look right (and it would probably make ppl pronounce it wrong) but on the other hand I doubt that someone who hasn't learned the language would know what's the deal with Tōko either. That is unless the name (? since I don't know which series are you referring to) is written in hiragana like とうこ in which case it should be romanised as Touko (imo).

But yeah, Bucock and Bread-Admiral . I don't really think Reinhard BMed them by not saluting back. But I don't remember the specifics. He had his own way to honor them, or something. Reinhard is overall commander of the fleet. I guess you could say that at his position, he is the strategic level commander. Due to the sheer size of his forces, he can't control them all, so the actual deployment and movements of the fleets are left to each of the Admirals under his command. So Reinhard will tell his admirals "Go attack here!", or "Flank there!", and then Bittenfeld is like "RAWR CHARGE" and dives right into the middle of them. Bucock should have taken his fleet and joined up with Yang. Imagine what they could have done together. + Show Spoiler +After the battle, the Imperial Fleet flew through the battlefield and then everyone simultaneously saluted. But I think that Reinhard should have at least saluted at Bucock when he saluted him. It was pretty awesome too how Bucock and the bread admiral drink wine in front of Reinhard and are like "a toast to democracy!" Then Reinhard gets pissed and has a Kircheis flashback xD
As for the last point, Mittermeyer and Reuenthal talked about what Yang could do if he had an equal number of ships. Even Bucock probably could have won with an equal number of ships. To come that close with 20k ships is seriously impressive. But now Yang really is isolated. And there's still over a full season left. I can't imagine what's gonna happen now.
+ Show Spoiler +Heartbreaking episode . Bucock tried so hard! But at least he faced an honorable death... Bittenfield is now my new 2nd favourite character after Reinhard (Kircheis being dead). So awesome to see him charge all the time without even thinking. Long live the black lancers! I hope he charges into Yang soon. This battle was very impressive. Using an unstable solar system with a lot of rocks and mines. I really enjoyed it quite a lot I also thought there would be some epic alliance fleet coming when it was actually Bittenfield. So epic. Yang is isolated, but now he has Iserlohn. I do not think he's gonna be in trouble for a little while... and it's not like Reinhard has declared war on El Facil yet.

So, uh, which VN should I get into after Clannad? I don't think I'm going to just plow through this one like I did Sharin no Kuni because I already know just about all there is to know about Clannad.

I was pleasantly surprised with kore wa zombie desuka, the first 2 episodes in particular were hilarious. Now I just started ny GTO marathon, goddamn this is the funniest show ever lol!
Didn't like Madoka at all, so boring, couldn't focus.

Yep, yet Tooko runs into the problem that you have mentioned - no one will pronounce it right.
The books were far better, but the anime did quite a good job for the constraints that it had. The memoires were imo brilliant.

Finally, hearing a full, high quality version of Connect is a musical euphoria previously unknown to me.
The other two songs on this single are good as well. So now they have six full songs, all are pretty good. That's like half an album. Hopefully we get a full album or another anime song soon D:

From what I remember (it's been a long time since I've watched it) a lot of those messages were excerpts from the Bakemonogatari novel (I have the original Japanese).

Yeah, they are mostly excerpts, though some of them are kind of just focused on whatever wordplay is being done at that moment. Others are just lines that are fairly important.
