yeah I know what you mean, I try to always play through a Vn once without a walkthrough but after that I use one for the other routes.

Told you.
Someday I'll have the time to try Clannad again, but for now there are other things. (Also the Tomoyo After translation is still around 35% )

No joke. Looking through the walkthrough it's so very easy to fuck up. I'm glad I didn't get very far or else I'd be very angry later.

Hunter X Hunter and One Piece are the only animes you should watch.
Dunno if it's allowed but as for Manga: SlamDunk and Vagabond are a real treat!

Manga and visual novels are acceptable, as long as they aren't Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece, as per the OP.

+ Show Spoiler +Yeah, but they said they had to get it verified by the politicians though, right? ![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/rVU0H.png) I'm assuming that by "legal procedures," they mean that they need the approval of some bureaucrats.

It's even slower than Hollow Ataraxia.
Regarding VNs, I pretty much use walkthroughs right from the start. Most of the time, the bad ends suck, and aren't even worth seeing with rare exceptions (eg. Clannad's Sunohara ending). It's always the same "YOU DIE ALONE T_T" kind of stuff. It's not like there's any feeling of accomplishment for picking the right options anyway (Wow, I sure know how to make decisions!). In any case, I play VNs for the story, not to play guessing games.
The only games in which I went out of my way to collect bad ends were Tsukihime and F/SN, just because of how awesome they are.
Edit:

If you ever want to torture me just show me the ending of that bloody series and I'll be begging for mercy.

+ Show Spoiler +Yeah, good point. Lebello wanted to even fight Yang in a fleet battle. >.>

Uhhh still kinda think its random how they just like removed like 90% of the Glittering Crux in 1 ep.... oh well theres not that many eps left anyways, and reviving Cybodies still kinda feels lame to me.
As for who the East maiden is... that one surprised me quite a bit... but I guess there really wasn't anyone else unless it was another new character + Show Spoiler +How was it a surprise? They never said it explicitly, but there were at least two big allusions to her being the East maiden earlier in the series (the bus scene with her and the other 3 maidens and her appearance in Ayingott's visions).
+ Show Spoiler +Completely forgot about the bus scene lol.... and yeah I remember Ayingott's but hmmm... I'm probably just taking a lack into detail about SD now T_T

The only reason I even picked up trying VNs was to do Clannad and Tomoyo After, but everything I read on the translations seems like it's been going slow forever.
Also, it wasn't so bad in Sharin no Kuni because of the fast forward option that I could just whiz through stuff that was repeated text. Seems like it's going to be long and grueling going through clannad. Luckily it's a story I really enjoy already

A lot of common route stuff in Clannad too, I was happily abusing ctrl myself.
OreImo portable is pretty short but has quite a bit of variations it seems, I might just get my Ayase route and then move onto other games before coming back. Also finally some official confirmation about some of Ayase's words, so weird that the author doesn't try to use her more when even Kyosuke repeatedly tells us that Ayase is exactly his type appearance wise.
Kuroneko's sisters are hilarious though.
|
I heard that the OreImo game has like twenty different endings or something.
|
More than that lol, though in terms of actual endings people will care about probably a dozen or so I'd think. Well, like I said, I am mostly reading through that for Ayase, after that I'll focus on other games that I find more important

Ayase is a dangerous+ Show Spoiler + How many 15 y/o do you know who have handcuffs and handcuff men in their own room when no one is home , love-confused+ Show Spoiler +I think she's torn between loving/hating Kyosuke and just loving Kirino , yuri+ Show Spoiler +The type of attention she gives Kirino goes far beyond simple "not wanting to see friend hurt" type of protection. yandere. But yeah, I'd loooove to see her getting more development in the LNs. Maybe we'll get even 1 full volume of her with Kyosuke 1 day *drools*...

Depending on the VN, it's length and complexity, you might have to redo only 1 choice, or a whole chain of them, to get another ending(or girl?).

Yes, start reading again from the beginning and ctrl through all the scenes you've already seen. Your finished data carries over into new games. I can't remember if you can reuse saved games or not in Clannad.
Just read Prelude and Angel Notes. Prelude was reasonably interesting I guess. Lot of new characters. Lorelai is pretty awesome, and the little hint we got of Shiki (satsujinki?) was nice. Also, curry. -_- Angel Notes, on the other hand, was confusing as hell. I guess it was nice learning a little more about the Types though.
I guess that's it for Type-Moon stuff until the Fate/Zero translation finishes. It shouldn't take long - they've been releasing over 1 chapter per week lately, which is insane.
Edit: Goddamn my eyes hurt. Too much staring at my computer today.
