+ Show Spoiler +Yeah. Even though it blocks lasers and shatters knives (wtf?), it'd probably be way too costly to outfit entire police forces with it. Not to mention it probably weighs a ton. And I can't imagine it'd be useful for everyday cop stuff. Imagine if you got pulled over for speeding and a stormtrooper came up to your car and gave you a ticket. I'd be traumatized.

I've rarely ever had complaints about subs. Sometimes when they first come out there are some issues, but it's never to the point where the show isn't understandable or taking anything away.

Though sometimes i hate it when the sub low quality video though, but that usually doesn't happen.

I puffed my cheeks. Mikiya is such a stud. No wonder everyone's in love with him. Seo is practically a carbon copy of the Seo from Tsukihime (it's technically the other way around, but whatever). There aren't even subtle differences like with Azaka-Akiha, it's literally the same character. lol at Shiki defying all logic and being able to kill a predetermined future. So this is the famed Ryougi Mana. Pretty awesome personality, I have to say. “Oh my. I don’t need to predict that, do I. It’s mutual love, young lady. You’re loved deeply. Any more than that will be a little difficult. Ethically.” lol, this was so great. The bomber was the 14 year old kid? WTF. All the clues were in place, and I didn't even give it a second thought. Expectations are killer. =/ Some stuff I don't fully understand: - Is the future roommate who shows up at the end to meet Seo supposed to be Azaka?
She did not enter the meeting place, and firmly loitered under the blazing sun; the reason for this is something that others, those who cannot become Gods, will not be entrusted to know. What the heck is this meeting place they're talking about?
- Shiki and Mikiya are leaders of a crime syndicate? What? Or am I misunderstanding something here?
I really liked this story, especially the prologue (epilogue?) and the stuff about the robot story. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing it animated.

I looked on my calendar. We should be finished with the original series on February 20.
Omg Reinhard. DAT HAIR
Edit: + Show Spoiler [LoGH 64] +El Facil declared its independence? Let's hope it doesn't become another Phezzan -_-
And I'm gonna rage if they try to use Yang's name to justify something stupid.

The one issue I have with subbing is when it's too literal. I always get annoyed because of how awkward the grammar gets. It kinda ruins the immersion for me.
Reinhard gets more fabulous with each appearance. I guess that's why he's played by a woman in the live theatrical adaptation.
Gonna start watching Kaiji. I know nothing about this series other than the fact that the art is similar to Akagi.

Shit, Mirai Fukuin. I was just telling Southlight like a week ago that I just realized then that I don't have a physical copy of it and I should procure one.
Then I forgot.
Urg...oh well I should still have more books to buy soonish -.-
Seo being the same across Tsukihime and Rakkyo is pretty funny, though it is partly just the Tsukihime Plus disc being completely random. She did kind of see some time in Kagetsu Tohya but eh, no biggie really.
About Shiki...haven't you realized already. By like, episode 2 of Rakkyo even, that the Ryougi family runs a yakuza? At that iirc there were hints even in the first chapter. Though I might be thinking in terms of the book rather than the animes.
As for the other 2 questions I'd need to reread Mirai Fukuin, let me first find my copy I guess.
EDIT - Yeah, her future roommate refers to Azaka.

Well, we have 52 episodes of side stories, 2 movies and 1 very long OVA. However, unlike the main series, those are all events that happen before. In other words, spoiler free. What can happen in those 52 episodes for it to be so long? Is there even a plot? In any case, I don't mind watching those after, since LoGH is so great. Maybe 2 days for each movie/OVA and then the usual 2-episodes-a-day.

Mariendorf made a great summary of the political situation. I do not think the Alliance can ally with Yang anytime soon, but Phezzan (Konev) and El Facil... That's very interesting... For now, taking Iserlhorn and making it a base for democracy sounds like the best plan, but I'm not Yang so I don't know Very exciting season. It had a very slow start, but now I think it's gonna be very interesting. I think we'll get a major turn of events soon though. I look forward to it.
+ Show Spoiler +About damn time. I was beginning to think that Reinhard was having an emo phase or something -_-
I think that this was why I got so bored. A lot was happening, but all Reinhard ever did was sit around and play with his locket. : /

2 days per movie ain't gonna cut it once midterms start rolling around.

It was just so weird how similar the two stories were. I mean, the meeting with Mikiya practically mirrored the meeting with "Shiki" in that she was freaking out trying to prevent a prediction. And then they go into a cafe (which even has the same name), talk about seeing the future, and eat dessert. It was like I was witnessing an extreme bout of laziness.
About Shiki...haven't you realized already. By like, episode 2 of Rakkyo even, that the Ryougi family runs a yakuza? At that iirc there were hints even in the first chapter. Though I might be thinking in terms of the book rather than the animes.
I didn't notice at all. I just thought their family was rich and old fashioned. I assumed that since the Ryougi were demon hunters like the Nanaya, they just did that for a living.

You may consider the Cafe to be the common point across all of Nasuverse. If anything breaks the confines of the work and ventures into the other, they'll meet at that cafe. Wiki and such probably have more information. I'd add in more if I wasn't lazy and it wasn't 3AM and I don't have OreImo portable to turn to later
EDIT - To add more about the Cafe I guess, the C72 audio drama kind of utilized that where they had Arc, Saber and Shiki meet there. At some point it turned into a popular enough thing of its own to warrant 2 characters created just for that. Sometime last year they released a comic anthology involving that cafe. If you remember the random pic I posted once of Magical Amber meeting Kohaku, that anthology is where the pic is from. But anyway, Fate had little notes here and there about the presence of that Cafe. Tsukihime didn't really sans for the Plus Disc iirc, though there might be some things in Kagetsu Tohya about it.
Mirai Fukuin is iirc the originally unreleased parts to Rakkyo, so first came this, then came Tsukihime Plus disc. Since Tsukihime is basically Rakkyo modified, I guess Nasu just decided the story can carry over.
Also I edited above, but the future roommate is indeed referring to Azaka.
As for Shiki's family...hmmmm there were a ton of telltale signs. The fact that Shiki would go around in kimono is kind of a rough indication of her family background. Then you throw in some references (Mikiya mentioned meeting with her father's 'secretary' or something, a lot of these things might be more obvious in text form, particularly in original language). If memory serves chapter 2 also has talks here and there about the nature of the Ryougi family. Like the family was referenced and the way police members reacted suggested a weird connection with them, etc.
One of the things you learn about these major families in the Nasuverse is that they never just do whatever they are known to do for a living. Usually their power just extend into some similar trade in the normal world. I guess there is also some cultural thing here that lets me think automatically in the old family->financial powerhouse kind of way, best ask Southlight to elaborate on that.
EDIT - Where is that quoted line from. I hate working with English quotes back to Japanese.

So Azaka's actually a really good student? Whaaat. That totally doesn't fit my view of her. I guess it makes sense if her aim is to impress Mikiya though.
Haha, I always thought that the kimono was Shiki being eccentric. I guess most of the other stuff about their family would be better conveyed in print. Oh well.
The quote's from the end of part -4\- 4\, after the meeting with the bomber.

I've been typing so many oneline posts since I am lazy, yet t-m gets me to these posts. Guess I can't laugh at Southlight's massive ramblings on VN anymore.
Azaka is one of the top students of the district lol...oh right, chapter 6 of the anime kinda of left out all the background stuff for Azaka. And yeah, part of her aim is to impress Mikiya. Azaka is practically Akiha in terms of being refined too, just that her hidden side is more of a tomboy than ojou-sama style thing.
About the wafuku thing, well...they are expensive. They are really expensive. To be able to wear kimono to school is scary. I think that's a cultural thing though that is just implied. But yeah, most of the other parts about her family was shown in chapter 2. I just noticed all the stuff because I read the book already and know what to look for.
As for the quote, remind me tomorrow or something and I'll reread the whole first part, don't remember enough off top of my head. Or PM Southlight, he is up at odd times. Oh and I added a bunch of random edits to my above post earlier.
EDIT - Oh, meeting place, right. Where is Mikiya when Seo warned him about Shiki and where is Shiki when Seo saw her? That's your meeting place and outside.
Unrelated, iSiscon released a good version of Connect in mp3, no flac yet afaik. Pretty good single.

Like for example, Gaiden 1 is divided into 4 different chapters, each telling a different story about Reinhard/Kircheis' rise to power. Like for example, Chapter 1 has Reinhard/Kircheis on their first battle field assignment, and its about when they were temporarily attached to the Military police, and have to solve a murder mystery. IMO not all chapters were created equal, but they are all decent enough, and its more LOGH!!! Just don't expect the same scale as the main series. Also, Gaiden 2 has alot more with Yang in it.

Azaka's an amazing student - she got to that school on a full scholarship, she plays the role of the "perfect student" (yuutousei) very well, and so she gets away with a lot of random stuff (goes home more often than usually allowed) etc.

new Onii-chan episode was great, cant wait for the third girl to appear

Freezing + Show Spoiler +Seriously, this show would be one of my favorites this season if not for the over board of fan service. I say it every week, but it seems like it's more and more an issue every week. Still, the action in the show is enough to keep me interested. I'm thinking I'm probably just going to read the manga here soon though or maybe after the season.

+ Show Spoiler [LoGH 67 and 68] +I was wondering what had happened to Rubinsky. He's still as underhanded as ever, I see. I feel bad for the ordinary Alliance soldiers. Some of them get to go be in Yang's fleet and survive, and the rest get to die for pretty much no reason. Pretty discretionary I wonder if one of the ships allocated to Yang will be his old flagship.
