I kid It's true though. That said, I enjoyed ep8 of Full Metal Panic! I'm very confused! On April 12 2018 14:00 BigFan wrote:Thanks to whoever recommended Hanasaku Iroha. It was a good watch. I started watching because I heard that it starts out a bit rough with the MC but she grows. + Show Spoiler +I'm a bit conflicted on how things ended though because it feels like Enishi recognized his shortcomings but was determined to get better. He could've kept the hotel open but worked at it. It's not like he was starting from scratch here! I was also a bit disappointed that it was only towards the last episode that Ohana finally confessed her feelings to Ko when she realized things halfway through (or seemed to!). Yes, yes, these type of anime go this way but I just wanted more cute moments haha. Is that too much to ask? Also, within 2-3 episodes, everyone was already in love with her lol. I mean, sure, but why not make the transition a bit longer? Guessing they covered the whole source so they had to limit the time.
Another thing and this isn't just a critique of this anime but other similar ones is that they almost always downplay the main character's intelligence. Ohana saying things like I'm dumb (or something similar, don't remember exact phrase) and then telling her grandmother that she's old since she understood nothing was a wtf moment. I don't understand why they can't make these characters cheerful, bright and sparkling too?
The grandmother imo had one of the biggest transformations. Her intentions seemed clear and it was obvious that she cared about everyone by the end. A far outcry from her cold attitude when the series started. Takako's transformation was ok, felt a bit too sudden after that one episode. Enjoyed the other characters too though Minko's confession played out as they normally do, same with her being happy that he just looks her way. Like, sheesh, is that all you care about? Why not push further? ><
I could go on but I'll leave this for now and add more if anyone wants to discuss this. As for Overlord, wait, what? the end of the first season was bad? It was pretty enjoyable imo. Given, I do agree that Ainz just dominating opponents was great! I would say the second arc of season 2 was good, first was meh. + Show Spoiler [Hanasaku Iroha] +The transformation of the grandma was kinda bullshit. It's very typical for these type of stories to go for something like that and it doesn't really make sense. The writers just do it to create drama in the beginning but try to lure the consumer into liking the character by making them forget about how terrible the character was in the beginning.
Agree about Ohana's confession. On the other hand, I think they handled Minko's pretty well all things considered. Hanasaku Iroha is an original btw. so no source. + Show Spoiler +what part of the transformation did you not like?
Glad to hear that someone else does. When she thanked him when she was at the shrine in like episode 16 or something, I figured that she'll call him finally and just confess to him. Instead, she waited until she went to Tokyo and waited even further until the bonbori festival. Guess at least she finally confessed so I should be happy or something.
Yes, Minko's was handled pretty well. Still, it's sad that all she carries about is him looking her way. I'm pretty sure I've heard that line so many times before so that's another critique that I have. Is it? Not bad imo.
+ Show Spoiler +Well, it's completely idiotic to think that a woman her age would change her behavior about something so simple. The whole thing also implies that the end justified the means which is idiotic as well. It has been quite a while since I have watched the show so the details are blurred in my mind but that's what I remember from when I watched it. The transformation was illogical considering her age and what happened and it was mostly artificially created by the author to achieve the points I stated in my previous post.
I also didn't like Minko, I just thought she was well handled.
I don't really get your last statement. Not bad imo? Why should it be bad just because it doesn't have a source.

Watched 4 episodes back then and decided to drop it because it didn't know what it wanted to be. All the moe shit and casual conversation completely destroyed any notion of integrity for the spy part of the show. There are things that don't work well together and being a professional spy and sitting in the open, sipping tea and talking about qualified information surely is one of them. The show could have been really good in my eyes - and the writing and display was certainly on point at times - but got destroyed by non-sense.

Princess Principal is more of a standard action show and less of a spy thriller. The main twist wasn't bad, but the actual plot was paper thin. The focus on episodic stuff for the majority of the show didn't help the story either.

I really enjoyed the characters, especially Ange when she's undercover of a character. I was just really surprised by it, because given the name I thought it was like.... some weird slice of life set in a school. The show really surprised me. I guess it's not as widely loved as I thought it'd be.... I hope we can all appreciate the amazing OP.

Anybody watching the persona anime ? To anybody who played the game how did it translate into the anime version ?

I have been watching the anime, it is decent so far. Some rearranging of things and some animation hiccups but should be alright. Obviously cannot replace playing the game but I do like how they keep referring to it in animation design etc. But you can clearly see that A-1 Pictures did not quite have the time/money to keep up with the extremely high quality of the game.
All in all, it's alright but if you really want to get a feel for the story of the game you should still play it. Also since we are only two episodes in,we still don't know how they will handle the confidantes and how much will get cut

I haven't got around to episode 2 yet, but Episode 1 was straight out of the game pretty much, just at super high speed. Not as much content, but it was more or less the same P5 experience. Using the game's soundtrack really helps out with the P5 feel, too

Is the anime just a direct adaptation of the game. If so I need to go finish the game finally
|
Yeah, its an adaption of the game. If its anything like the P4 anime, it should be a pretty close adaption at that.
|
Alright i'll give it a try . tnx !
Started rewatching FMP from the beginning not just TSR. Pleasantly surprised it's still enjoyable

Randomly decided to watch Rakudai Kishi no Chivalry yesterday. Overall pretty fun. I wish the development in the last 2 episodes didn't exist, but other than that, an above average LN adaptation anime.
I really liked the style of this fight also. Quite an interesting way to do a "one strike fight". + Show Spoiler [final battle, but guessing you] +
|
The show was bad but considering is was a generic fantasy-harem-esque LN adaption, it was actually fairly alright.
|
I thought the final fight was straight up garbage honestly, it's a one strike fight but we don't even get to see that one strike animated, they cut away from the strike itself. What a disappointment.
|
I do agree that it is sad that the strike itself wasn't shown, but honestly, it doesn't matter at all. Would just be two swords clashing anyway.
The animation style up to the strike though was very unique and well done.

to follow up on that:
srsly... some people...

Not sure why they specify foreigners It's not like japanese otaku are any better at interacting with authors, artists or anyone in general
The medium is full of shitty fans
|
I'd say there's a difference between doing that with someone who can barely understand you. With japanese shitters it's at least clear for them and they probably know about them but if you suddenly get "hatemail" in english and only understand half of it it's probably a bit more weird.
But yeah, obviously lots of shitty people around.
