I've posted about Alicization before, but Alicization is indeed bad, and those who say otherwise either haven't read it past a certain point, or shouldn't be trusted. Alicization has a decent start. For once in SAO, Kirito starts a new world from the beginning. He doesn't start as some OP Beta-testing/SAO-inflated/account transfering in-game Monster, he starts off as some nobody who amounts to nothing. And the World, while in actuality painfully generic, at least has a sense of mystery and newness around it while you try to figure out whats going on. And best of all, Asuna and the rest of Kirito's harem barely have any relevance to the arc early on. At least until they show up later as literal Goddesses in-game, because why the fuck not? Anyway, as the arc goes on, eventually the story starts showing that it is actually SAO, and revealing that the early parts had tricked you. Eventually it becomes Bleach, but worse. Also probably has the worst bipolar characterization of Kirito in the entire series, since it can't decide if hes some carefree happy-go-lucky smart ass, or some super emo edgey broodlord. IMO the one redeeming part about Alicization is that Alice has a really good design. | ||

Not seriously envious but the kind of ... question "who's the one you feel the most at east with" on NoGameNoLife radio, Matsuoka answers Nobunaga and she's all pouty "oh is that so? Nobunaga?". So that's why the three of them would have to be great. Haven't seem them all together yet though. But... did you see Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku ? as an example I guess. (he's [Nobunaga] also the Free! MC so that helps with the fujoshi I guess) And Matsuoka x Kayanon is THE ship. There's no better ship to be had. There should be more than enough on those two | ||

Mother's Rosario was pretty nice in LN form. Not really sure about anime since I decided to not watch that just in case. Alicization was a breath of fresh air while reading, and I enjoyed every moment of it. | ||

IMO the one redeeming part about Alicization is that Alice has a really good design. that may very well be the case, but to be fair, reading SAO was hard as heck back in the day when people were actually reading it. I remember when I read it, it was only translated up to a volume after the library scene, and I read all of it, and then the rights got bought out by yenpress or whoever and everything went down the shitter. A few years later I got my hands on the rest of the volumes, but never got to reading them because that would mean re-reading all of alicization. I did really really really like it for as long as I was reading it though, and am hype as fuck for the anime, even if it means enjoying the ride only up until that point if everything really does go to shit at some point afterwards. | ||
