Wonder how well they can even adapt this, will probably cut down on the gore and rape. Then again the LN mostly implies it unlike the manga which outright shows most of it. | ||

It's a series called goblin slayer with a main character called goblin slayer and it's about him slaying goblins. There is an overarching plot but it only shows its face every now and then between goblin slaying quests. MC is the most amusing part of it to me though. Also fwiw the manga is like 10 times edgier than the light novel honestly. | ||

It does what it sets out to do fairly well but that's about all there is, there's no amazing character development and most characters are very slow to develop past being pretty generic. In most ways it's just a incredibly generic fantasy D&D-esque setting + Show Spoiler [not really a spoiler] + (The setting of the series is literally a world made by gods playing D&D with all the people in the world being characters the gods move around, with MC being the only one the gods have no control over and they find him highly amusing because of this, since they can't predict or know what he'll do.) But MC isn't some destined one or anything grand, he doesn't have some OP power because the gods can't control him or the events relating to him. He's just a dude in armor with weapons that kills goblins. And that's where my own amusement comes from, how single-minded MC is. He's goblin slayer, all he wants is to kill goblins. He's pragmatic to a fault and highly creative in the ways in which he'll kill goblins. People try to get him to do a quest that has nothing to do with goblins and he just leaves without hearing what they want to hire him for, he only kills goblins, goblins or nothing. It's definitely not for everyone and even the LN which the anime will probably be adapting isn't nearly as edgy as the manga but it's still pretty damn edgy(Rape is implied in the LN instead of shown like in the manga, for example). But the writing is just serviceable, so i wouldn't expect anything special, if the action is good then that's honestly all i can ask for. It's just an amusing series to me really. Not in a so bad it's good kind of way, just in a, this is amusing without being comedy kind of way. | ||

SAO thingie announced (some weeks ago already), All the new figures And I know i know, you're all going to say SAO and DanMachi are shit and I'll agree with you on that. But at the end of the day both have Matsuoka voicing the MC (kirito + Bell) and while I don't really like the roles themselves the guy himself is amazing. Just think about it this way: SAO is basicly a million dollar excuse for me to hear Matsuoka + Kayanon + Nobunaga nonstop, right? Also Tomatsu Haruka as Asuna but noone gives a fuck about her. So basicly super hyped for that just for whatever kind of bonus material comes out of it eventually. And DanMachi is basicly the same thing. It's going to be glooooorious Matsuoka really is the 2nd cutest thing to ever happen to Anime and only getting pushed to the 2nd place by Asumi Kana. | ||
