Watched War in the Pocket today and the small scale & length of the story was a refreshing change of pace from MSG. I liked the show but have mixed feelings about the ending.
+ Show Spoiler [War in the Pocket spoilers] +Let me just get this out of the way first: Bernie Noooo q__q The ending was pretty anticlimatic and unsatisfying after all the buildup. I really didn't like how they just resolved the nuke subplot offscreen wich undermined everything Bernie did. I get that the tragic ending was the point of the show if his talk about war was anything to go by but the ending needed to show more teeth for it to feel impactful (think NTHT). I'm pretty sad because I liked Bernie and he deserved a better end than that. Rest of the show was pretty good though, characters were likeable enough to get me invested in the story. The Animation was also a step up from the QUALITYfest that was MSG 0079.
Now I just have The 08th MS team and Thunderbolt December Sky left to watch before moving on to Zeta.

This ep of Haikyuu was really well done. I liked this part in the manga and they definitely nailed it here.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I liked the message of 0080, but I don't think the way the ending was presented did it justice.

+ Show Spoiler +I'm not exactly a fan of 0080 (as in, I don't like 0080 at all lol), but most of the message of the show was trying to show how pointless and meaningless war is. You start with the kids who are like "oh, war is so cool, Zakus are da best!", have one get caught up with a soldier, show that said soldier is just a normal guy trying to protect what he cares about... And then he dies. And ultimately, he died for nothing. And what he left behind was his potential love interest in the hospital, and the kid with nothing but sorrow. So it basically was all for the point of "war is bad and pointless".

Yea. The show airs on late Thursday in japan. Fansubs don't come out until late Friday PDT. But idk if toad is watching the fansubs or the ones released by horriblesubs/CR which comes out on Wednesday 10:00 PDT which are a week behind.

Yup. The animation is really good. In s1 they were reusing a ton of scenes over and over, for plays and for flashbacks, which is saving a lot of budget so they can add more frames to a lot of those scenes. Hence they are incredibly smooth.
Speaking of good animation: Fune wo Amu has surprisingly good animation as well. So much detail. They even had a random person turn around slightly to watch the MC while walking past.

Oregairu OVA (Volume 10.5)
+ Show Spoiler + Wow, such date with irohasu (aka 2nd best girl). I enjoyed that the conversations were rather blunt and indirect, their actions show a lot of chemistry as well and in a world where 8man and yukinon aren't fated to be together, i would support this couple too. The ping pong, ramen, and iroha walking as close scene were also pretty amusing. Also love the faces on yukinon and yui when iroha mentions that he spent a whole day with her and then when they see the pictures too lmao. Then the service club go on their own and yukinon has an small 1 on 1 convo with 8man and lol.
also, lol at iroha complimenting that 8man used their date as reference.
Why can't watari finish this series T_T, 2016 may not be a good year with no new volumes released but hopefully he gets something out next year

In a show full of weirdos, Hanna's sister stands out so much for being normal lol. Love that sadistic smirk on Chinatsu's face as she gets hit over and over kind of like a masochist. Though i was kind of sad that Chinatsu just decided to trash her friendship with Suzuko. rip. Now they are really gonna have to fight each other very soon. oh well, suffering still continues.

Flip Flappers isn't really progressing. Even though they pretend to progress the main mystery we still don't know more than in ep1. Papika can be quite annoying at times.
3-gatsu ep4... I thought the first half (chap7) was really good. The second half felt more like a vine-compilation - aka not that good.
//rewatching the original pokemon series, the gym fight in Dukatia City gave me PTSD flashbacks from my first encounter with Bianca in Gold back as a kid, lol. They also changed the german voice actor for Ash as of this episode and he is even worse than the previous one. -.-'

I've had my eyes on this anime for a couple years, but just managed to get around to watching an episode or two.
But people should check out Fuujin Monogatari. It's a bit old (2004-2005), but it's pretty good so far.
