Roberta so OP.
Also Lotton is even better animated than in the manga, ahahahah.

I thought we were done with Madrarame's unrequited love. D: + Show Spoiler [LoGH 27+28] + More characters? Sheesh. Julian's a pilot now. So he ends up as a soldier after all... It was kinda expected though. Mittermeyer's proposal is pretty cute. I was half expecting him to get run over by a car though. ![]() ![]() PEDOPHILE Moving Geirsberg to counter Iserlohn is an interesting strategy, but it seems incredibly wasteful. I'm surprised that Reinhard actually considers it to be a workable plan. Edit: Oh yeah, I tried watching Beelzebub. I found it incredibly unfunny. First dropped show of the season! I think I'll drop Index as well. I've had about all I can stand of Touma.

It's like comparing the narrative of a game like Planescape Torment to something like a Final Fantasy. They are both enjoyable for very different reasons. They are both well written in very different ways. Where as a game like MGS4, deepest thing I've ever seen, is a pile of shit. Sorry for the game comparisons, that's just my field of expertise ![]() And as someone who is very bummed on anime for being shitty so often, and was expecting S&W to be "oh, a girl with animal ears that has cute mannerisms, i'll probably have to kill myself" -- I ended up being quite taken with how well played the characters were. As people have said so far, it's just a 2 character show with some straightforward "economic" issues -- and yet while it's definitely not The Godfather or something from Shakespeare, it's easily one of the most amusing series I've seen. I do see where you are coming from, and it's easy to understand the criticisms. At the moment I do think S&W is a well executed tale -- but thank you for the recommendations and I will definitely come back to this after giving them a run/read through.

The point isn't so much that S&W did what, but what S&W had that other things also had but capitalized better on. So in that sense, it is in fact how well something is executed - the overall experience was not good enough to make us defend S&W where the individual parts has failed. But yeah like I said, standards. When your expectation is just for Horo to be some cute furry then yeah, S&W is much better than that. When you are expecting a witty show with economics, finances, and awesome character interaction...yeah. I guess ultimately it was how the initial premise and settings were so promising...then we see 2 seasons of the same thing. Oops?

I'm surprised that Reinhard actually considers it to be a workable plan. + Show Spoiler + Wasteful? Eh, maybe. Hilarious? Yes lol. Fortress vs Fortress haha. But honestly, the Fortress only had worth in the Civil War. Since the Alliance doesn't have the means to attack the Empire (and Reinhard knows it because of their very damaging Civil War), the Geisberg itself lacks any strategic value. But to take a Fortress like that and use it on Offense, against the Impregenible Iserlohn Fortress might be a way to recapture the corridor. So, I've finished LOGH: Overture to a New War. It was very good. I kinda wish I suggested for you guys to start off with at least Movies 1 and 2 (Conquest of the Sea of Stars and Overture to a New War), because they not only give alot more content, but they are great introductions too. Conquest deals with Reinhard and Yang's first encounter on the battlefield with each other (among other things), and gives people like Mittermeyer, Reuenthal, Mecklinger, and even Steinmetz early opportunities to do stuff, not to mention Reinhard, Kircheis, and Yang. Overture takes place right after that. The first half of the movie is basically a prequel to Episode 1, and the last half is Episode 1 and 2 done even better. People who didn't get much screen time or character developement that early in the show actually get to do stuff. Fahrenheit for example has speaking roles, and they do alot with Yang/Lap/Jessica. Even though the Astate Encounter is pretty much the same, they elaborate more on it, and overall its just better executed. And of course, Yang/Reinhard/Kircheis get more stuff to do.

She is just about to finish Clannad: After Story. I told I thought she'd really like it when I was watching it. Same situation but the roles are reversed. I'm the one getting all into Anime and it's mostly because she (and you guys) kept recommending me stuff. Though she doesn't watch a lot of the stuff that I watch, every once in a while we find some kind of strange common ground.

It's much better than just saying "Hey, this show is sooooo bad." In the end it seems to be personal preference. I watched the show for the interaction between Horo and Lawrence, not for the story-influenced economics. Yes, this includes the flirting, because I found it to be funny. Spice and Wolf, for me, is mainly a romantic story about the two and their journey, not a show about economics with a wolf. I guess it also helps to go think about shows/movies in the usual way. We'll see that which the author thought was the most interesting thing to show, not everything that happens. Does Lawrence have other deals and doesn't fail all the time? Sure, but that doesn't need to be shown, because it's not a "real" story. Would I like to see such scenes and other interaction between Horo and Lawrence? Sure, but I enjoy the series even without them. But I agree with triangle that the show has it's weak points when you take away the interaction between the two main characters. The thrown-together plot of the latter feels by far more coherent than the former. In S&W, stories are just an excuse for you to see Horo and Lawrence flirt with one another. Both of those shows also fall under my oh-so-promising but oh-so-fail category. The fail only hurts more because of the promises. And see, you people who only watch the anime only has to stomach a bit of the Horo-Lawrence thing, when the pattern goes on for more than 10 books without any significant change it starts to get sickening. Then throw that in with the fact that every other character introduced is just some kind of an excuse for people to get more of the same Horo-Lawrence thing...urg. Pain. I just couldn't read any more of it after a while.

I wonder how much damage the Thor's Hammer would do with a direct hit to Geiersburg. What kind of armaments does Geiersburg have?
