Caught up with ReZero + Show Spoiler +Subaru is 100% going to die to that beast thing and he is 100% going to redo negotiations as something besides a piece of shit, at least I hope that's what happens, if he stays the same the whole series he's gonna piss me off even more than Shinji Ikari in the original Evangelion series. Right now, I'm quite depressed watching it, since I have quite a similar personality to Subaru, considering that when we both had someone we liked, we did something extremely unhealthy and made her to be some idealized fantasy and fucked up when confronted with the real her. I gotta hand it to him, though, despite being a jackass and an all-around failure like me, he's not giving up trying to get what he wants, whereas when things got hard, I gave up and didn't try anymore. 91 Days will probably, to me, wind up like Gangsta, in other words, not bad, not good, rather forgettable Anaama to Inazuma is a wonderful anime, I desperately needed it after the general frustration and despair of ReZero Mob Psycho 100 is 💯💯💯💯💯, seriously, I'm having so much fun with it, just like I did with Sakamoto desu ga last season. Apparently the ED is 100% oil paint on glass, that's seriously kickass Orange is gonna break my heart, I can already tell. One thing I learned the hard way is that when someone close to you dies way before their time, you never stop blaming yourself for not being able to do anything about it. It never goes away and it never gets any easier. Hopefully, this anime ends on a happy note Planetarian is decently animated, but I think it'll end up appealing only to the VN fans

Watch the Saiki shorts. They might just be my fav this season, I laugh every single time.

Used the long flight back to europe to finish the second half of Berserk.
+ Show Spoiler +It got better and better until ep23. I loved the character development, the drama, decision-making, psychlogical impact. Very well done imho. In the end of ep23 it got pretty wanky though. It kind of reminded me of FMA (2003) as in it randomly went completely off track. It was anime original, wasn't it? I didn't even get the ending. Everyone died but Guts still went of after the ending credits? Did they think "hey, let's do this ending! but in case we do a sequel we have to keep Guts alive somehow...".
Can someone who read the manga spoil the manga ending of this arc to me? Or what generally was different to the show? Thanks!
Before ep 23 I was pretty sure I would give it a 8/10 but now it's probably ending up being a 7/10. The ending honestly wasn't that bad (not terrible like FMA) but I still didn't enjoy it as much as the rest and it seemed rushed, forced and wanky.

I also started Steins Gate and uh also ok so far (2 eps in). MC guy seems crazy but it has some intriguing/entertaining things to pull you in.
Steins Gate is slow for 20 episodes (with a few decent parts in between), then it gets interesting.

The biggest different between the anime and manga version of that scene is the anime, for whatever reason, decided to cut out the part how Guts survived. Some dude called Skull Knight shows up and saves him and Caska. And then episode 1 happens a little bit after all that.
That ending was really fucked up. It was a huge punch in the gut.

+ Show Spoiler +What do you mean by "the first episode happened a little bit after"?
And yeah, it was fucked up and still felt kind of rushed. I think it could have been good with a little bit more thought given to it in the end.

Finished Legend of Galactic Heroes.
After almost 2 months of watching. Dont read if u havent watched.+ Show Spoiler ++ Show Spoiler [no seriusly watch it first] +Yes the story is linear, easy to foresee at some points, not everything is explained enough still what a great ride. Never before have I been fucking sad to see a character lose their life in a series. Before I watched this. Most notably Oskar von Reuenthal he for me was the star of this show, even tho many people say its Oberstrein - he died but for me he did not deserved it - maybe for setting lutz in order to put Reuenthal into revolt. It was greatly phrased at the end that Reinhard didnt die from illness but from using all of his lifetime. But you all know that and if u didnt you just got spoiled so hard that its not funny. Started watching out of curiosity stayed till the end to see the development of the story, the fate of two factions. Its not something you should give anyone who doesnt want a lenghty story driven series with so many memorable characters.

While he wasn't the character I liked the most (although hes certainly pretty far up there), I feel like Yang is one of the best written characters I've seen in anime. Other deaths like Kircheis and Reuenthal were rough too, but Yang was like the main character! And he had just pretty much achieved his goal! Everything was going to be alright! The narrator spoils you, but ep82 will never leave me. Oberstein's death didn't bother me, since while he was well written and fulfilled a good role in the plot, I still hated his guts lol. + Show Spoiler +I actually had indeed forgotten about that... -.- I guess that's what you get when you watch a series and have wa to much input in between episodes. Skipping through the episode my memories are coming back though. Makes sense now.
On another note: I'm probably going to start with the new season now. I planned to check out the following:
- 91 Days - Amaama to Inazuma - Handa-kun - Mob Psycho 100 - Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin Airing - Orange - Planetarian - Rewrite - Taboo Tatoo - Tales of Zestiria the X
Anything else I should definitely add?

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan!!! There's a reason there are almost 0 people disliking it on MAL (aside from it nothing being too popular because it's a short, and people like to hate popular shows). If you want a funny show aka Sakamoto it's far superior to Handa-kun which I found pretty shitty.

New Game!, what a godly show. We need more Hifumi though

91 Days, Amaama to Inazuma, Mob Psycho 100, Alderamin, Tales of Zestiria the X, New Game!, Kono Bijutsubu, Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan are all great so far. And Shokugeki no Souma is great too, even though I'm less hyped for it lately, somehow. All my weekly hype is for ReZero basically. Love to discuss about it and others seem to do so as well, even the haters. Which just shows they probably like it too but don't want to admit it.
Orange, Rewrite, Taboo Tattoo, Planetarian, Amanchu! all aren't bad either.
Speaking of ReZero... + Show Spoiler [lol video] +

Any of you watching Danganronpa? I'm really enjoying the future show! Murder + mystery solving hype!
If I rank the shows I'm watching this season...
Re ero Berserk Tales of Zestiria Danganronpa (Future arc, unsure about the other one) Taboo Tatoo The outcast (Chinese Zombie or supernatural show) 91 days
ReLife + Orange are on hold.
|
Nope, don't know the first one and people say you even need to play a game before watching the 3rd Danganronpa. Berserk is just OK imo, the CGI is bad and it's only fun for the action to me.
Oh and right... Thanks for reminding me about the Outcast, still haven't seen episode 2. First ep was pretty OK.
|
Oh wow, that's a lot of stuff. I'll try out Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan!!! Might try out Amanchu as well. Handa-kun will most likely be a drop for me if continues to be like the manga. New Game and Kono Biju are probably not for me but I might try them out later if I'm bored/have too much time. Mob Psycho 100 ep1 was pretty decent. Covered all what I remember about the manga. Next episode will be new stuff
|
So Prisma Ilya ep3 was today. It feels like something's missing this season so far, not quite sure what
[/sarcasm]
|
One thing about Log Horizon is that it kinda lacks...urgency? Like absolutely no one freaked out about being transported into this new world and everyone was just chill about it and went about doing stuff, and none of it especially dramatic or tension filled.
|
you only watched season1 so far? That issue was touched on in season 2 a bit but really just a tiny amount. So yes, generally they mostly all seem to be chill about it.
But then watching season2 to get some of that gets you Akatsuki arc and more chibi adventurers being slow as fuck... so probably not worth
