This sounds like it could be the next Baccano, but that may just be me having unreasonably high hopes for it Now that I'm looking at the studio, it's the same one that made the Durarara second season, so there's probably going to be a lot of similarities to Baccano

Fight scenes in bahamut were better rip. Charlotte >>>>>> Houki > Rin >>>>>>>>> Laura and Cecilia I'll go finish S2 now. man, i just want to watch an LN-like story with possibly some romance. hmm next on my list after i finish this is one of these 4 i guess : spice & wolf, kaze no stigma, chrome shelled regios, or toradora. hundred: 5/10, no wet kiss at end, booooooo Whats a LN-like story? Serious question.

I get that not everyone can understand her greatness and how she's on par with Charlotte... but putting her on the same level as Cecilia? ![]() I am in shock

I actually liked Houki's final mech but that's probably too generic for you.

Eva is all about the atmosphere , the pacing , enjoying the filler because it is build-up to the ultimate piece by piece desolation . also the movies/OVAs change things completely, like random different extra character, iirc. Eva is good because it is slow and gritty. you can watch the "blockbuster"esque OVAs afterwards once you've recovered. i mean several episode are like 2 minutes of complete silence or just the sound of a train or whatever. that's what i mean by gritty and atmospheric rofl. how many anime or shows actually use silence to build tension these days? i just watched a random clip on youtube and it was like 50% silence just for tension building between dialogue lol watch the series with english dubbing coz the voice acting gives the characters awesome characterisation (you will never forget misato or ritsuko or gendos or shinjis accents) that's just my opinion i might be wrong. i should go and rewatch it in japarino sometime for the new experience Sword of the Stranger (another anime movie) was OK. i think thats all the anime movies i know (not even watched 5cm or girl lept yet)

Granted i don't think evangelion is the master piece it's sometimes hailed to be either imho it's still worth watching solely for how influential it was though

Funny, shit like that I normally call pretentious bullshit and shameless budget saving.I can agree that some of the more redeeming parts for the show are the episodic nature of some of the parts of its first half. Its just that eventually it runs out of both money and imagination, and descends into absolute garbage.

(none of these clips are really spoilers and most of them are muted and minimised but i recommend not clicking if you haven't had the eva experience yet) like 30% silence youtube.com/watch?v=RREpnkt4xaw literally silence youtu.be/MOqURWmImOs?t=1193 literally silence youtu.be/MOqURWmImOs?t=217 literally silence youtu.be/LSZ5s2YUgus?t=508 silence youtu.be/m2e3_5bgVuI?t=116 silence youtu.be/m2e3_5bgVuI?t=1194 silence youtu.be/rYUDEwTYGyE?t=1257 silence (i think, not sure) youtu.be/G3SAjbb_enI?t=1022 personally i think its gorgeous. the number of impactful moments or situations that occur in just silence is not to be overlooked and i think eva really utilises this amazingly. isolation, bitterness, numbness, embarrassment, awkwardness, weakness, shame, these are just some of the emotions portrayed with "just silence" in various scenes, not to mention feelings of hopefulness, affection, comfort and so on in further scenes

In some ways, its impressive. By intentionally doing absolutely nothing in a scene, forgoing audio storytelling and even visual storytelling, people who want meaning to be there will add all sorts of meaning and values to them, and all the sudden you got a scene of literally nothing being described as some powerful scene.
