On the matter of LNs, just finished Bungaku Shoujo gaiden vol 3, that concludes the gaiden series. Nano is amazing, she actually got a whole short story written by Konoha 0_o (in comparison, Touko gets a 3 part novel, Miu gets a a novel, Nanase gets zilch [poor girl]) I slept all night again (6->9 -_-) so I didn't make any headway on Bullet Butler (ノ_・、)シクシク

I havent watched it but i heard its a an One Piece clone with better art + some fanservice. Btw whats good to watch now that the season is over . My watching list just went down to OP and Gintama lol. Tried Rio: Rainbow but thats insta drop so only thing im gonna watch is Kimi no Todoke s2 and Beelzebub for now. Terrible season is terrible.

Are you just ignoring the scenes where Keima looks dejected after every capture or something? It's surprisingly depressing. + Show Spoiler [TWGOK 120] +

Granted the anime adaptation displays more evidence of him being slowly being affected by real life, but regardless of the adaptation, he is breaking gradually and slowly. He may put up an intellectual facade when engaging in captures, but his heart isn't made out of stone. + Show Spoiler + Yui's arc insinuated this fact, and it's further solidified when Kanon/Apollo is attacked. On January 05 2011 19:58 TimeOut wrote: c) Continued with Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. I know that I've watched some episodes earlier this year but I never finished the series. It's a decent and funny anime, but I'm not a huge fan of the nosebleed-fanservice-comedy style. Hideyoshi is always great though. BakaTest is better off watched with friends that don't mind such a series; it isn't anything special but damn it has its funny moments. For the new season, I watched Rio: Rainbow Gate ep1 yesterday. Uh... It could be worse, I guess. As expected of a slot machine spin-off anime series, it's mainly fanservice and gambling. Gambling with superpowers in this case and in a really really freaking huge casino complex, but still, nothing that really stands out. Art and animation is not that bad, so at least it's watchable if you really need a fanservice show. Rio was a lolfail personally; I was expecting something remotely interesting. Then after having a "wtf" reaction after the first episode, I then realized that XEBEC was broadcasting the series. No wonder. >.> Personally, it's basically similar to Saki, only with a hell of a lot more fanservice and a different game altogether, but the premise is similar in multiple aspects (particularly the God-Mode aspects when it concerns gaming >.>). Edit: I forgot that I read The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan manga too. Really funny and interesting so far. That spin-off was actually really interesting; I haven't checked out whether or not if new chapters were scanlated in the past year or so, but IIRC, I really enjoyed that alternate universe for the most part (the only part that I thought was inconsistent would have been Haruhi's development). On other matters.... People need to seriously stop riding Angel Beats! balls; it's not as great as anyone makes it out to be and, at this point, is over-rated. They really screwed up with the first season and unless there is some huge plot development in the second season (I'm really hoping there will be but Angel Beats! has proven to be notorious for failing to deliver anything when it counts), then the franchise overall proves to really be a lot less than mediocre. + Show Spoiler + I just REALLY hope that the subpar quality of Angel Beats! doesn't/didn't affect the quality of Rewrite at all (despite Maeda arguably being the sole participating KEY member in Angel Beats! ); granted it's nearly impossible to top CLANNAD and/or Little Busters!, but I would like something to restore my faith in KEY/Maeda as a whole.

I like to think of it more as him looking exhausted, not dejected. + Show Spoiler + Also, I think he has plenty right to be exhausted after trying to capture 5 out of 15 girls in a week to save someone's life. He is weak enough as it is, but 5 sustained captures at once on girls who don't have massive problems is taxing on him.

I assumed that the guy wasn't that far into the series and hadn't seen the arcs that really change Keima like Yui and Tenri.

Yeah... Yang and Kircheis being friends? As much as I like the idea, it's never gonna happen. ![]() Mariendorf is great. I like her already. Potential love interest for Reinhard? She seems like the kind of girl he'd be interested in. ![]() While it's understandable that a lot of the nobles sided with Braunschweig, in the end, we all know they're going to get stomped. I feel kinda sorry for Merkatz. His position seems hopeless. I hope this is foreshadowing, because that'd be awesome: ![]() Edit: On January 06 2011 04:40 DCLXVI wrote: That has really only happened once or twice recently, and not in the early captures at all. He is weak enough as it is, but 5 sustained captures at once on girls who don't have massive problems is taxing on him. I thought they had stuff like this in the earlier chapters, but mostly it consisted of close-ups of Keima playing on his PFP with a neutral expression on his face. I prefer thinking of him as a guy who actually cares and is affected by these captures instead of some emotionless robot, in any case.

They aren't terrible and they're at least worth a watch once, but I probably wouldn't find myself watching either again. i actually just finished it last night and even though the love triangle was killing me the whole first season, the other story (which I won't spoil) is very beautiful and symbolic. Not to mention the MUSIC IN EF IS FUCKING AMAZING. I could just sit and listen to the OST all day..

If you're looking for more recent stuff, here's a "best of the year" chart for the past decade: ![]() And Ef was kinda mediocre imo. This chart doesn't seem like too good of guide to me. Ofc its all subjective but at a quick 30 second glance how does stuff like Shakugan no Shana, Scrapped Princess, Higurashi and Gundam 00 make this list but SEED doesn't (I dare someone to say 00 was better than SEED.) Death Note makes it but not Code Geass? these two animes are so similar, one just has robots(Both were very good). It just seems more of a list of all the animes this person watched in a given year as opposed to the good ones, so I'd take its suggestions with a grain of salt. Just my opinion though.
